I recon some people might get exempted for mental health reasons as well. Not everyone has the capacity to look out for anyone else on top of themselves.
It helps out in the real world cause everyone has these ridiculous connections by the end of school. Lost your house? Talk to your mentor, who talks to a friend, who talks to the person they mentored, who says "Oh, I know a place." Yeah, it's a rare exception.
I was going to suggest that middle school students get separate dorms, but the mentor idea is really cool too and I like that more.
that actually is a thing at my school sort of. like, i have a great-grand sophmore (who i honestly hang out with less then I do with John, another senior, but eh)
it's not a school wide thing but every year the sophmores sometimes try to adopt freshmen. considering this year there are 30 ish sophmores and 50 odd freshmen.. not so much i got adopted by a sophmore who got kicked out because the headmaster is.. special but yeah.
...My biggest hang up is I oculdn't legally use music for a "the weather' equiv (also my editing skills are weak so I wouldn't be able to add music at all)
fair enough. it would still be really fun to do, like as a thing. we could also do a group voice thing. okay brain, stop, no, we're not going to make a podcast with the other kintsugi people.
Listeners, one of the students from the nearby school that we are forbidden to speak of called in today...
All I can think of is someone from Strexcorp trying to take over, but that's to crossover-y, I think.
exactly. all of recording our bits and someone who can actually edit doing it? somehow meeting up? idgaf
On that point, should we have a Night Vale thread on here? Yeah, I think that might be stretching it a bit. A research wizard who has looked too deep into the abyss and has let the abyss look deep within them? A con artist? At this point in the night, I just start stealing from everywhere else. (A jabberwock, heavily disguised)
Sure why not. You know what would be funny? Someone trying to banish the headmaster. And it doesn't bother them all that much, but the rest of the school is like "how dare you"
What if people who don't live near nexus points started going "why the fuck are we letting an eldritch abomination teach our children" and now Misguided Bureaucrats are trying to get it removed/close down the school. Anyone who knows about the nexus and it's weirdness is facepalming so hard it's echoing through space, but a lot of people are flipping their shit because wait we're doing what? The school is where? The wizarding world is no less prone to moral panic after all.
