I kinda want to make my clairvoyant character the Divination teacher but she's like 12.

we could run something where she says something in class, teacher goes "oh would you like to teach???" and then she goes "...yeah actually"
    ...
do we already have a div teach?

@Arxon my main issue with that is that, well, pranks are generally kind of mean. fireworks could specifically target the people who go "...really?" and roll their eyes...and pointedly avoiding people who make the typical "oh fuck oh no" kind of body language towards them.
Some level of initial shock to scatter everyone, and then they pull off to go after the jaded, the naysayers, and whoever a particular coyote is particularly irritated with at the moment.
we could even have a deep learning moment, when a coyote realizes that inducing flashbacks in the kid who keeps poking them is not a socially accepted method of dealing with the situation. (that coyote is not Moss. Moss likes planning pranks, executing them individually from afar, and then leaving town for a week. Moss is going to have to learn how to not do that if they want to be a wizard cop.)

Oh dear. How many characters are we allowed in the actual Hogwarts RP?
I'm filling out Annabeth's profile, and I'm like. WHO'S ANNABETH WITHOUT HER BESTIE VIVIAN? AND WHAT ABOUT BRADY? AND EAMON? AND CLAUDIA?

    I have a problem.

(Also, it's looking like a Slyth-fest. Snake house, best house.)

I actually want to get some feedback before I play Lilly, my clairvoyant, in Sage Canyon. Because characters with special abilities are kind of tough to play in RP settings, sometimes. And knowing things about people that she shouldn't know is kind of her thing, future, past, or present. I'd try not to god mode with it. Just use it enough to make her... eerie.
Now this also requires cooperation in that you share those little personal details about your characters, or like, planning plot, and stuff like that. idk. what do you guys think.

I'm down with that. We can chuck stuff under spoilers if it's planning plot (or personal details), so people who want to be as surprised as their characters can ignore it. or something

Hi I just read this entire thread, so I'll probably be trying to think of a good character. I love messing with half-humans in Harry Potter stuff (or 1/4 humans, as in the case of a HP!version of one of my fantrolls) but I'm not sure if something like a half-veela or half-whatever would be applicable here, especially in the southwest...

Also, I firmly believe that any time a Raven-dorm person is being cryptic and mysterious, they are almost definitely trolling.

Huh, I wonder what native magical peoples live in the US.
    *fifteen minutes of googling later*
confirmed that there's a breed of dragon in Peru, and vampires have been known to live in the US.
    Also gnomes.

Okay I may have to make a new character who is a half gnome and live sin the bowels of sage and acts as maintenance person.

different areas of the states, we've gooot Wendigo, Teihiihan, and of course, we can't forget dear old Sasquatch. I mean, we've got all sorts of cryptids and creatures of legend here in the states you practically can't throw a rock in any given direction without hitting one.

Yesssssssssss. We can splice it with all the crazy eldritch bs.

Do not throw rocks at the magical creatures. It makes them angry.

Unfortunately I've read too much Dresden Files to think that the inclusion of skinwalkers would lead to anything other than an Eldritch Abomination showdown between a Naagloshii and the Headmaster.

((should I even consider a half-naagloshii, since those apparently exist...))

Did y'all figure out a prank? I'm pretty excited to see where that goes.

I think I've decided what I want to go with, prank-wise
I feel like I'm possibly waiting for the right moment.
But it's vaguely possible that I might just go for it.
(I should probably write it out)

    is this still a thing?

this is just really awesome <3

also, dress code for safety/hygiene: legs covered to mid thigh, no sleeveless, backless, or bare midriff shirts, closed shoes required. this is so nobody has to sit in a pool of your butt sweat when you change classrooms, and nobody gets a tarantula bite on their toe or whatever. 'what to bring' lists for new students also include broad brimmed hats, long sleeved shirts, long pants, and sturdy boots, for expeditions into the desert; you don't want too much skin exposed to the sun, and there are lots of spiky plants.

if anyone has ever taken issue with things written on shirts, the headmaster probably just ruled out printed t-shirts rather than try to make coherent rules about content. any attempt to enforce gendered clothing has been received with complete incomprehension.
