i actually don't know anything about Persona, this was in reaction to a character piece in a cosplay chess game. I can link the video when it goes up in like a week but it went something like this:

person announcing chess pieces: *says the introduction for some Persona character, which ended with the following* "praise jehovah." (awkward silence) "Um...janova?? praise janova"

 

Huh. I don't know off the top of my head who that might be. Maybe Takaya? He bears a stunning resemblance to fanon!Jesus, but with tattoos and guns. And I almost made the joke about his posse going door to door and asking everyone if they'd accepted Nyx as their personal lord and endbringer instead.

Spoiler: Explaining my joke

The protagonist of Persona 3 is such an explicit Messianic archetype that their ultimate persona is literally called Messiah. The original/official/"canon" protag is male and is fanon-nicknamed "Minato Arisato;" the PSP remake of the game added a second route with a female protagonist, who promptly got nicknamed "Minako." I like her a lot better. :::PPP

holy fuck it wasn't even persona it was final fantasy. this is why i shouldnt be allowed to say things about video games

in my defense there was also a persona character in there somewhere
