Some of the snow stuck to the cloth and is melting due to Quirrell's body heat. You are now mummified in damp smelly purple cloth with ice water leaking through it. Definitely a circumstance that would not discourage you from wanting to kill everyone on the planet. :::PPP

 

Bonus: According to JKR, the reason for the DADA curse is that Voldy wanted the job, got turned down, and cursed it out of spite. He is stuck on the back of the head of a not-great teacher who has the job he wanted and couldn't get. Seething intensifies.
