just had to emergency surgery on my laptop cause the hinges failed. They literally detached from the back of the screen so i suddenly had two pieces of laptop in my hand, connected by the wires. Still functional tho. So i used superglue, isolation tape and gaffa tape to bandaid it all back together and lo here i am working on it! will be home with parents on saturday, and my dad has two component glue that can glue steel that we can try, and my mum's got UV.activated glue so there's a real chance this baby is still fixable. hell dad even offered that if it's really justthe hinges we could just affix bottom and screen to a little metal frame and thus make it stable but unfoldable, basically a portable desktop. I'm not folding it in its emergency repair stage either so *shruggo* And hey that works for me. will be making a backup of the lappy on my external harddrive tonight/tomorrow and get a grip on my passwords again in case i DO need to buy a new one on monday but so far so good.
Today on 'wtf human body' Patient came in with Creatinine value of 23 The normal value is <1. also normal potassium would be ~4.5. this guy clocked in at 8.1. My coworkers, one of which has been at the job for 30 years, and worked in a lab treating dialysis patients before, have never seen values like that on someone still alive.
Oh Jesus. That's the highest Creatinine I have ever seen in my life. eGFR was approximately 0, I'm guessing. Did you find out what was wrong with the guy?
Close! It's 1. no idea yet. Doc got some fluids and a catheter into the guy so now he's down to 21 (man that's a sentence i never expected to write...) but everyone's puzzled yet. Also puzzled how the guys not dead yet when hus kidneys are.. Well doing approximately 0 of what they should.
