10pm! At this fir 12h now. Discounting lunchbreak - which isn't really a break because the phone's ringing or people are coming in all the time anyways, so you never get to actually unwind - i had 30 minutes of uninterrupted quiet today
A Ravage!!!! I'm so glad he arrived savely and found a friend already. They are excellent together, enjoying the sun !
i have a few more photos i can show when you're able to get back onto discord heh. They had some adventures. Flareon was suffering from a terrible disease called Manufactured Cheaply In China-Itis and had to have a couple of their feets sewn up, Ravage helped.
I've been invited to a surprise social of my coworker bbqing by the lakeside so i guess that's my dinner planned for
That sounds like an excellent plan tbh. Much better than my 'sandwiches in the hospital during late shift plan'
yeah it's good! Just 'oh god a social without warning!' But delightful. I might nip across the Street to grab a melon for it
When the weather is nice (meaning a bit cooler than this) I quite like surprise socials, had one last week even and that was great fun :)
The social was very enjoyable! this might be the one lake in the country that's still like 20°C at best and therefore delightful in this heat also had fun talking and tasty food! I bested the gas grill.
Important update: if i sleeep with my window open to combat the heat, i can hear my downstairs neighbours snorring.
i am growing convinced that watermelon, especially at fridge temp, is some sort of potion of heat resistance i can all but feel my organs plump up again like particularly disturbing sponges as I heat. rehydration!!
Sometimes i think working as a labtech gives you a very pointed kind of prescience. Like, do you know how often over the last few months one of us stood in front of the blood fridge going 'hmmm i got a bad feeling about this' and ordered more units, only for them to be needed the very next day? And it's not predictable stuff like a dialysis or cancer Patient that needs regular 'refills', it's always new arrivals And the pattern is interesting. The MTA....she knows of the future..
That's kind of weird and also really neat. Me being me my first inclination was to go THE GODS OF MEDICINE HAVE BLESSED YOU WITH PORTENTS OF THE FUTURE SO AS TO SAVE LIVES. That is me being me who is kind of a goof though that needs to remind herself that a bird is usually just a bird.
I mean it pretty weird and neat. Like, we wouldn't have needed an additional Oneg and Opos on friday, but i was feeling kinda hrrrgh about having only one free Oneg, and three free Opos before the weekend And lo today i have crossed 2Oneg, 4Opos and 2Apos for three different patients already. And lemme tell you, the fridge is looking much less worrisome with that due to the little restock
Also: idk what's going on here because considering that it's saturday it's superbusy, i hope this abates later
