I can't judge that because i never overwatched But at this point it feels like there's nothing that Warlock as a class brings to the table that other classes don't already gave covered, and covered better. And like. I don't even play warlock as a support class outside of endgame content because at heart i'm not a support player but IN endgame content 'support' was the sensible roll because of well. Now it's....nothing. Because other classes have better DPS/buffs/debuffs Like, every class in Destiny can be played as support with the right alignments/liadouts, but warlock is the only Healy one, and the Healy is underwhelming and made even more so with recdnt changes. And don't even get me started on the grind for lost sector exotics and their use on warlock.

i think they're just doing what people have begged them to do for like 2 years now which is bring Well in line with other supers in terms of usability etc etc so warlocks CAN do another alignment. It sucks that this means they had to sacrifice well cheese for sanctified mind but i think it has been in the works ever since they noticed well of radiance was mandatory, which, yknow sucks for warlocks. Also y'all got nova bomb and chaos reach and some of the most potent lock down/crowd control supers with stasis, ticklefingers and dawnblade + a nova warp buff incoming so idk, grass always seems greener on the other side? titans are okay in end game content *now* since cuirass actually gave us a sensible dps option (and let us be king of the pecking order for all of one season with the right mods lol), since we have two supports, both of which are considered optional outside the hyper optimized meta and one (1) CC option (albeit a pretty good one, sunspots are very good to mop up trash mobs) but hunters have literally two options, multishot tether if you need CC (or single shot for a debuff (and the debuff is often irrelevant bc of seasonal mods and/or divinity)) or one shot golden gun which has an incredibly high skill hurdle and is the main reason I don't play hunter in raids more often. All of which is to say: warlocks are still fine, you're not baggage and you're still the main way hunter mains can actually stay alive out side of invis
See I'd like that, except they just made Well somewhat shitty, instead of making other tactics actually viable, because without well you still run headfirst into the 'can't fling enough damage at the boss to escape enrage' problem. So it's still kinda mandatory but now also Worse. Which. didn't solve the problem of 'gotta have your local wellslut on hand' That said, i feel like Titan's got CC options that are just as good or better than the warlock ones, both hammers and FoH is extremely 'clean AAAALLL of this motherfuckers' up in my experience! Hunter def needs more love for arcstrider tho they seem to have that covered for next season so hopefully hunters will get to branch out a lil more. Also I'm p sure the well nerf killed Riven cheese dead unless you got a backup well or the goop doesn't count for damaging the well...
I did mention hammers! Though really only one of the three variants has any raid viability imo. But yes sunspots hammers is decent for endgame CC especially since you can block spawn locations. Fists of Havoc suffers from being melee range only, which means even your buff to sprint speed doesn't help TOO much to lockdown like half a map which a lot of raid encounters demand, plus the only aoe ability within the super eats so much energy/duration you can get like 3 groundpounds out usually and they don't linger a lot. Behemoth is just slow as molasses turbo garbage right now so like stasis is essentially dead for titans unless you go really hard into that lance build which i haven't even unlocked. Personally I think (GoS excepted) there will be workarounds found just using empowering rifts to get the buff part taken care of which ought to be enough for riven cheese to stay I think, especially if there's 6 people and since well was actively fucking with combat style mod functionality. I don't think it will be that big a problem but it WILL lock people harder into lucent blade and the lament probably. Garden of Salvation is just. Man. Please fix this shitty mess of a raid. Please make it less buggy if you're taking away the well strat. I do think kas has a point that there could be a modified version with 3-4 welllocks tagging in and out similarly to the pre-atheon encounter in VoG? The question would be if we can manage learning that well enough we don't collectively want to claw our eyes out (If we ever get a raid team together again lol)
Yeah that's another issue, Bungie going 'we want all playstyles to be viable' but then basically nail you to the floor wrt weapon choices for endgame and then have THOSE all locked behind paywalls like. Bungie Please. That said, I DID try with empowering rift + assemblers during the last riven cheese, and sadly it just ended with just everyone dying because the goop is that toxic and you basically need Well's healing to offset standing in Riven's Spicy Tar for the duration. Bubble might work but ime bubble is trickier with the trigger and the placement to avoid smacking the wall instead of the boss. I think 3 welllocks shoooould be enough if you wanna rotate it, since phoenix prot now caps at 50% and the orbs from another well plus kills might be enough? But I wouldn't wanna bet on it. Though that also means that instead of making people go 'warlocks can no non-well things' it just results in...MORE warlocks getting pressganging into Well to make up the diff of the well being shot down/phoenix prot not covering anymore. Which is i think my main critique point? That i don't see these changes make people actually use well Less, because there's no replacement option that warlocks have that's remotely as effective in endgame still. (Related: the fact that empowering rift does Absolutely Pitiful bonuses so nobody uses it) I have faith that we'll get a raid team together, hush. We just all need a bit of a break.
no the bonuses are actually quite dope for endgame? it's jsut yknow, endgame, so shit hits hard, so you will default to more passive and healy options etc i wonder if a titan with scars + a healing rift + an empowering rift might be enough for riven cheese? or getting more wells involved which wouldn't be the biggest tragedy, I don't like the armor in last wish like at all so i'd be down to be well-slave
only one way to find out, i guess. I don't mind well-slaving, i've done enough of it by now to get used to it. It's just. I don't think the well nerfs are going to actually make well used less instead of making it just Harder because the way you gotta approach boss battles hasn't changed, but by virtue of 'this dude is a giant sack of hitpoints and you have At Max 4 phases of ten seconds to pump bullets into them.'
yeah... yeha.... I think the one thing I actively dislike in the current encounter design is the fact there is an enrage mechanic. I would vastly prefer if you could keep going until you run out of revives. Like. We already have a way to limit encounter times if it doesn't work.
i'd also be down to be an additional well user sometimes, though with the caveat that it would be sometimes because otherwise i'll feel shoved into that position like i did for the first few months we were raiding
I genuinely enjoy the simplicty of well when i am on warlock, the titan main swapover kind of coincided with cuirass of the falling star coming out so i needed to play on titan for p much all DSC attempts to be a dps failsafe but it's levelled off somewhat and I can do well for p much any other raid comfortably and also you're not allowed to thundercrash the sanctified mind anyways bc bungie doesn't want me to have fun
