I just came across the word "AutoCorrupt" and I love it.

 

Given that all the mitigations for the previous versions have so far been stupid kludges, it's not surprising, but there's a new rowhammer attack.

 

Despite hearing about its impending approach for months, I somehow managed to completely miss the fact that I live in a place where Brood X is in fact a thing.

Oh gosh, I haven't ever seen an episode of Star Trek, but I can pronounce Klingon serviceably and know a few phrases. It truly is a huge nerd flex because it's so fucking ridiculous.

 

I was never going to use Bing, but having found out that image searching "tank man" does not return the Tiananmen Square image makes it so I'm definitely never going to use Bing. Microsoft claims it was unintentional.
DuckDuckGo does return the relevant image, but only if you turn Safe Search off. Note: DuckDuckGo gets its index from Bing.
Interestingly, you do get results for normal search; it's only image search that yields the issue.

etirabys' story about Dogs is definitely one of the best pieces of science fiction I've ever read.

 

My brain keeps trying to draw an analogy between, on the one hand, hololive and vtubing in general, and on the other hand the Vocaloid phenomenon, but everything I found interesting about Vocaloid doesn't apply to vtubing. Which is not to say that vtubing isn't interesting, but it's definitely a different category of thing than Vocaloid.
I keep needing to remind myself of this fact, which makes it hard for me to form meaningful thoughts on vtubing.

Realizing that I knew a girl in college who might actually qualify as a "manic pixie", but maybe not a "dreamgirl" except to someone whose dreams are a little off-kilter. Like, if she were in one of those awful rom-coms in which the manic pixie dreamgirl archetype shows up, the male protagonist would be dead by act 2 and fervently wish he were dead by act 3.
