i read one where i think fakir turned into a tree by ahirus pond which was super cute. sad, but cute. i sorta wanted to write something based on the plenty of 'do-this-thing-to-turn-your-loved-ones-back-human-from-their-temporary-birdal-form' type fairytales, but i never seem to find the drive to do so?? Marina Diamandis needs to be happy and make an upbeat silly album or i'll never stop writing sad shit.
Princess Tutu!! God I love that show and I need to rewatch it so badly, I watched the whole thing in like two or three sittings when I was super ill so my memory of it has a ton of holes and I'm not sure how much of the weirdness was real and how much was confused fever dreams. It's so good, though. It is very like a more optimistic Utena, and I love stories with that sort of hallucinatory fairytale weirdness to them. I'm not expressing myself very well right now but I love stories about stories. I have a lot of feels about Duck and Fakir.
So I was going along on tumblr and spotted this gif and. Can I just say how much I loe the detail in this show. It'd be SO EASY to make Rue and Ahiru just mirror each other but the subtle differences are so good, like how Ahiru stays on her toes the entire time while Kraehe doesn't, or the different hand and arm movements (I think Kraehe is doing the same move Raven-Mytho does later on, is it a specific thing from a particular ballet?) and Ahiru stays more or less straight-up and Kraehe dips down slightly... I LOVE THIS ANIME.
ok im resurrecting this thread because princess tutu was brought up in the tumblr thread, and im reminiscing. here's the video that made me watch princess tutu and is probably one of the best amv's ive seen IT CONTAINS SPOILERS BUT HONESTLY THIS IS SO GOOD AND I LOVE PRINCESS TUTU
That video sums up all the not-slice of life and not-shenanigans of the story so well once you know it.
Well I just binge watched the whole thing across two days. I would of been so down for more gay but as is I was so glad for how the romance turned out. It warmed my dark withered heart to see how Ahiru cared about Rue and wanted to see her succeed even with them having the same romantic goals. And I love the relationship development between her and Fakir so much. Give em both someone to care about who can truly care back. Side note: it would of been nice to see more of Mytho with his heart in there when not trying to steal all the hearts. Heart stealing is fine and dandy but it would of been nice to get to know the actual dude rather than the shell everyone got so dang attached to.
