Spoiler: Image, Pokemon Sun & Moon spoilers Spoiler: There's other puns but this one sticks in my heart source
What do you call the end of a joke with wordplay? Spoiler: answer A pun-chline! Also probably a lot of groaning as people get it :3
In celebration of halloween, have a joke. Why are ghosts always ready to party? Because they have plenty of boos!
My name is a pun, actually. Spoiler: explanation So my preferred name is Nikki/Nicole. "technicality" "tech-Nicole-ity" :3
Around the time that dinner prep normally starts, I hear scrubbing sounds coming from the kitchen. I figure my mom is making potatoes, but it continues for quite some time, so I go to investigate. Me: Oh, you're filing your nails! I was wondering just how many potatoes you were planning on cooking. Mom: *fans out fingers* Ten. [a pause] Both of us: We're having fingerling potatoes
Some of the drinks we make at work call for whole milk; we keep it in a separate fridge. Also, my male coworkers frequently flirt. Me: Well, looks like [male coworkers] are gonna have to stop flirting for a bit. Coworker: What, why? Me: [indicates empty fridge] No homo.
Spoiler: Undertale spoilers pun The route in which you don't kill anyone is the route in which you meet Sans quite a bit. It's the common sans route.
I'm playing Bravely Default and it's. Look, I knew it was going to be like this going into it and it didn't help. One of the player characters has amnesia. His name is Ringabel. One of the player characters betrayed her country out of idealism. Her name is Edea Lee. Her dad is named Braev Lee. Her mom is named Mahzer Lee. (I'm going to assume someone at Squeenix was listening to this.) One of the first bosses in the game is a monk named Barras Lehr (it's helpfully pointed out in the character descriptions that he doesn't like being described as a "bear wrestler," in case you didn't get it). Another one is the black mage Ominas Crowe. There's a king who tries to manipulate the population with underhanded machinations and dramatic speeches. His name is Eloch Quentis Khamer, because of course it is. The character of the valkyrie class is named Einheria, and her sister the ranger is named Artemia. There is an addictive drug called "nidaphyx."
Mom and I were talking about Canada's new national bird, the grey jay, and we both agreed it was a good thing the Canada goose wasn't chosen. Me: In their defense, a lot of things people do is really rude by goose standards and would have most other birds flying away. Like staring right at goslings, or when little kids run at them. Mom: That must get their gander up.
I'm not entirely sure this counts as a pun, per se, but anyway, a list of basic types common to many programming languages: Int Char Str Wis Dex Con
Normally it's "get their dander up", meaning to annoy someone. She used gander instead, which is a word for a male goose. (Admittedly it might not be hilarious, but I laughed.) eta: Doy, if it's @Exohedron's joke you're talking about, those are also terms used for stats in D&D.
ahahaha oh man you're barely scratching the surface though. "Tiz Arrior" is "this warrior," basically all of the asterisk holders have relevant pun names (Holly Whyte, the white mage, a class known for holy magic, is probably my favorite, along with Dark Knight Alternis Dim) and the protagonist of the sequel is Yew. As in, you, the player. :'D I love BD's puns.
i can decipher some, but not all Int -> Integer Str -> String Char -> Char(acter) and the other 3 might be part of the joke.
