Once, like a week-ish after I got my learner's permit I was driving my friend back home after hanging out to practice & my dad was in the car, and I was so nervous I missed the turn for my friend's street, and my dad got upset and made me panic so I tried to make a u-turn but I was freaking out so I misjudged the distance & ran into the curb instead, causing a flat tire

Which caused my dad to scream at me, in front of my friend, still in the car, while I started sobbing

It was very embarrassing, but also, he was wrong

You didn't make the roads icy & you didn't push your dad down the stairs, it was an accident with bad timing. Not your fault.

I'm sorry it happened, and I hope you're okay!!

I'm not actually crying, but I am very emotional. Like, holy shit, what a good idea. Of COURSE there are academics and scientists in refugee housing, and of COURSE they need contact with the scholarly community. It's not enough to feed the body. The mind can also starve. #ravenclawlife
