Lupin woke up this morning with her back legs not working right. She can put weight on them, just barely, but her balance is shot and she needs to lean against the wall to eat/drink. She's back to walking like a 3-week old kitten - flopping her tail back and forth and staggering around like a glasgow drunk at 3am on a Saturday night.

We've got a vet appt tomorrow afternoon, and I'm keeping a very close eye on her until then. She's going to be 19 in April and she's my best and oldest friend, guys. Please send good vibes/thoughts/prayers etc our way?

We got two kitties at the shelter yesterday! They're sisters, and have been in foster for almost their whole lives because they're special needs. They were born with cerebellar hypoplasia, which means they can't really walk (they look like they're drunk at all times. and often fall over), can't jump, and have difficulty doing things like going to the bathroom or eating because of their balance and fine motor skills problems. But we met them and I fell in love, instantly.


This is Kisara. She has better balance than her sister and can almost run!


This is Morrighan. She's the reason I opted to set up a meeting with their foster family - I wanted to adopt at least one black cat. She's more unsteady on her feet, but seems to have an easier time eating than her sister does. She also loves cuddling, and we slept together last night. (Kisara curled up next to the bed, but had no interest in joining us in the bed.)

Update on Lupin! She's fine now, on some new supplements that ought to bolster her some, and her balance has been regained!

The vet said her weird turn was most likely a 'moderate cardiac arrhythmia' aka at least half a heart attack, which is super scary, but I've known for a while her heart ain't what it used to be and if the next one is the end, I just hope that its while she's asleep and she suffers no more distress.

Anyways, she's fine for now and thanks you all for your witnessings!
