Pretzel has been in the process of shedding, but instead of hiding away like he usually does, he's taken to curling up in the corner of his viv and looking like a little possessed demon noodle.

sneks don't have eyelids! (those are for lizards :P) Instead they have specialized clear scales called, imaginatively, "eyecaps" over their eyes to protect them. The blue-grey effect you see over Pretzel's eye up there is a normal part of the shed cycle; 'going blue' is caused by the fluid buildup between the old layer of scales and the new to help things separate as easily as possible, including eyecaps! Unfortunately this makes seeing hard for the noodle in question, so some get snappy and defensive at that point of their cycle.

Actually snakes don't have eyelids! Basically, when snakes are getting ready to shed their skin, it starts to go kind of milky-looking due to a buildup of fluid under the layer of skin they're going to shed (which is why people refer to their snakes being "blue" when they're shedding) and it makes their eyes look super badass, haha!

Edit: whoops ninja'd! (thanks @Loq for explaining it much better than me xD)

i love love love the cycle of 'winner' and 'agree' that happens..... it makes me think of a bunch of people bursting into applause, then one person standing up and shouting a compliment, and then everyone surrounding them bursting into applause again, this time with vigorous nodding and everyone saying things like 'yes, yes!' 'absolutely!' 'so true!'

Also since the weather has been nicer I've been able to play ball with Buffy over the field again and I swear literally every time she fetches it she is compelled to wiggle happily on the grass

Oh and we went to a fabric shop the other day and they had a good, good dog that would just plop himself down for belly rubs. And if you tried to leave, he would just lay there and look at you very hopefully until you came back. I really did not want to leave this shop???
