eheheheheeee I played with a couple of friends today and had a lot of fun! Some of my favorite team setups were Team Beefcake (five Zaryas and a Roadhog, we DOMINATED) and the Senior Team (two Reapers, a Soldier 76, a Mercy, a Reinhardt, and a Bastion). I discovered I'm okay as Reaper, and also decent as Winston. Basically, as a trend, I'm good at things you don't have to aim accurately with.
aaaaa I can't play until monday </3 (granted, that is bc i am on vacation, so it's not really something to pity me for. what i MIGHT deserve pity for is that when I'm back it's time for moving preparations, o I'll not have much time for overwatch anyways. WHY THIS TIMING IT LOOKS LIKE SO MUCH FUN etc etc)
it'd need a bit bigger arena for that, but yeah. also the ability to beat up opposing players and temporarily stun them, or something.
Have you guys seen the post-DDoS glitches where non-Lucio characters ended up on the feild? There's one with a 76 that slaughters, quite literally, the opposite team.
I just got Mei's summer victory pose, she's holding up a gold medal and looking COMPLETELY SHOCKED and it is hilarious and adorable.
Long-range harassment and covering fire with icicles will get you a surprising number of "I didn't even know there was someone there to shoot!" kills. Apart from that I mostly try to flank with her unless I've got a Reinhardt or someone to hide behind - I die a lot, but it frequently gives my team time to get on the objective while four or five people are waiting for me to come out of my popsicle so they can smash me. The wall is good for cutting off retreats, blocking entrances to objectives, and separating a team - especially if you can pop it in the middle of Mercy's beam or get Lucio cut off from everyone else. The ult is less often useful for Actually Freezing Everyone than it is for area denial; you can make sure no one wants to cross that piece of ground for several seconds, and if that piece of ground happens to include the payload, whoops, too bad. If all else fails, just get stuck in and run around trolling everyone like a short chubby adorable Symmetra and try to iceblock before you get squished. You can't oneshot tanks, but most other people will die to being frozen solid and icicled in the face, and if you're lucky you'll even get to run away afterwards. If a sniper's busy shooting someone else, try to headshot them, the icicle is slow to fire but perfectly accurate when it does launch. the most important thing, though, is RELOAD RELOAD RELOAD. nothing feels worse than freezing someone and going into the reload animation instead of facicling them.
I like to use the wall as a step stool. This seems to be unexpected in many cases. I've had kills on like Hanzos and shit who just were not at all prepared for my shit getting up to them. It'd be like they would back away from the ledge so I couldn't shoot them from the ground and then just pop and up and they just Stood there And died Like a bitch Was great.
There's a troll-y tactic called "Surprise Bastion" where a Bastion and a Mei hide behind a wall with a spotter and when the enemy team passes by you ice-wall under Bastion and SURPRISE.
thinking of super troll tactics, there's a Zarya video I saw once and wish I could find again. She used a grav surge to pull most? all? of the enemy team right over a bottomless pit, and when it expired...
