I love Sombra and I'll have to get back into Overwatch just to main her

(also love watching the seeds of Sombra Discourse sprout in the Sombra tag)

 

She sounds like a character I will hate for existing anywhere within my presence. For similar reasons to why I want to beat counter happy blue players with the table.

ANYWAYS I would like to try out her toolkit (but alas, the PTR refuses to even let me opt-in) and see how well she works as a counter vs characters like Mei and Zarya vs how well they work against her. I imagine stealth will keep turrets from autolocking her, but will Sym's beam still autolock? What about Winston's tesla gun?

I can see Zarya being pretty effective against her, for all that Sombra's toolkit is a giant FUCK YOU to some of Zarya's, but that particle beam cannon would be pretty effective for sweeping an area if you think Sombra's around.

(I also really, really like that Sombra will be super visible to her team. That's a huge improvement over how TF2 did spy.)

Well, it's really just some rumblings of "Sombra is 30 and therefore all art of her and D.Va is automatically and retroactively Verboten". I'd call it Discourse-adjacent, at least.

Hah, yeah, a friend of mine was like "oh christ she's thirty I can't WAIT for the shitfit that kicks up here" because I've seen a lot of the D.Va/Sombra art too. Fingers crossed that it goes the way of "Pharah/Mercy is Literally Pedophilia because Mercy knew Pharah as a kid even though they're now both in their thirties" and gets waved off by most of the fandom with a section of weirdly insistent antis desperate for someone to be underage that they can get mad about.

 

I kind of like how you can't see friendly spies in TF2 because it lets me pretend that spies are a myth, there are no spies, I have never earned an assist for my own fuckig death. I can't get love how insulting it is that you get an assist for overheating the spy that kills you. It's ducking awful. At least I've never Ubered a spy.
