I like sleeping small targets. Oh, you're a Tracer who was going around to kill the healer? Take a nap and reflect on your sins.
Anas and Zenyattas are the healers you have to be careful of as Winston. A Zenyatta at close range can land headshots every time, and if he's not adequately distracted he'll right fuck you up. Anas outheal my DPS, so they have to goddamned go right fucking now. I'm so glad the sleep dart has a little wind up and makes it own distinct noise, because then I know exactly when to jump tackle the nana. Lucio and Mercy are pretty well fucked unless their team wants to play rescue rangers. I'm remembering a match where this one Reinhardt did not win a single 1v1 with me, an electric gorilla, but every time I tried to come near him and his Ana, she'd fucking stone cold slaughter me. Nana, please, I just wanna humiliate your boyfriend.
Also does anyone else get more satisfaction out of ending an ult with a dart as opposed to killing them. Im bot sure why but its just so much more satisfying. Also more frustrating to have mine ended that way. MOM NO I NEED TO RAIN JUSTICE. This is why I must trick the Winstons and wait. Some of them anyway. Others are just happy to jump in and be darted immediately. And then I just run away. Also fun is hitting a Reinhardt mid-charge. Especially when they are charging at me to pin me to death.
I take out bad Winstons with the popgun on a regular basis. He's not an instant win button. But A good Winston can really fuck shit up. Even if they don't kill critical targets they can buy valuable time.
Why yes, teammate, I am tryharding. You might want to notice that we are playing comp. If you want to ignore the cart and be our second sniper, maybe quickplay is more your thing.
Every rude ass team we've ended up with has lost hard, while nice teams or even dead silent teams have won. I feel like there's a correlation here.
Holy shit, I just played D.va for the first time since her buff, and fuck me is she way OP now, christ. I didn't die once. I got ejected out of the Mech one whole time in two rounds. You can just hold the fire button and mow down an entire team, christ. It's obscene. It's fucking disgusting. Like, I don't get it, I keep going up against these D.vas who die like chumps, how the fuck do you even manage that? I have absolutely no talent at this game and I got 30 fucking kills, fuck me. She can't die. She just can't fucking die.
see, the way you're feeling right now? the 'holy shit i am IMMORTAL'? that's what get d.vas killed :P
See, I thought that might be the case, but then I got a pocket Mercy, and let me tell you, a D.va with a pocket Mercy is literally actualfacts immortal. She cannot die. She can charge into a cluster of the entire enemy team and not even get ejected from the mech. Like, people kept pulling out D.vas to counter my D.va, and they kept dying like chumps, and here's the secret; the Defense Matrix is fucking garbage, it takes away from valuable bullet time, don't bother with it. Just kill everyone in front of you, and your pocket Mercy will heal you right up. Never let off the fire button. Everything else is stupid bullshit.
I love the defense matrix. Depends on situation though. I usually just use it as a way to help situate myself to where I can't be shot. If I never bother with it or her boosters I tend to die and also be entirely fucking useless.
I'm thinking that maybe what happened is that I got lucky with the healers, who were willing to nursemaid me through the hoards. I'll have to do a third trial before I can really be sure. But yeah, in a straight up D.va v D.va fight, the one who pulls out the DM loses. No question. With everyone else, you can wait for the reload to swoop in and get the kill, but with another D.va it's like, I can keep putting bullets in you all day, you cannot escape, I will chase you down and turning your back will ruin you.
D.Va vs D.Va is a pure "who hit m1 first" fight. Defense matrix is really good for eating ults tho, and it's even better than Rein's shield for covering a DPS as they wear down a turret or Bastion. I find that with D.Va, a lot of it is not getting flanked. You get flanked and you're popped out of that mech in no time, but if you're keeping that giant crit zone on your back turned away, it's good.
Being flanked as D.Va is atrocious. And yes I would say you got lucky with healers. I tend to not trust anyone. I've no reason to trust random healers by and large.
Overwatch is the first FPS type game that I've ever gotten into so I'm really proud of myself for making it to Platinum today, I'm solidly average in skill! :)
One thing I hate about being on console; I have no way of informing my astoundingly oblivious teammates that the Mccree who keeps creeping up behind us has once again crept up behind us and also I am a Mercy and can only 1v1 him so many times before you idiots get slaughtered from the front because I'm solo healing. I don't get it, he did it like twelve times and I am the only one who ever managed to catch him at it, HOW? He's a Mccree, his footsteps are like the loudest most distinct fucking sound in the fucking game, christ. Please, please, please, someone else guard the rear, I have a job to do.
