The extra couple of in-game feet really make it wonderful, imo. I've eaten so many Pharahs out of the sky and D.Vas and Junkrats who thought they'd be slick and hide at the edge of a roof. I CAN STILL REACH YOU.

Also, that shield generator? Complete fucking gamechanger. Combine that with a halfway decent Torb and entire team is tanks now.

I love that fucking shield generator.

What I don't love is how Nano Boost no longer speed boosts you, which really removes the main reasons to give it to Reapers and Symmetras. Unfun.

Also, that Torb/Symm combo is so fucking awful. I played a round against one of those, and got gold with seven elims. It was fucking bad. I don't even think the Symmetra put down turrets. She didn't need to to slaughter us. Bad.

YES. YES THIS. IT IS ESPECIALLY LOVELY ON OFFENSE.

So you say as I charge into the fucking fray after being boosted. I'm honestly fine with the nerf I got as an Ana with her ult. My boost is a bit more situational with certain characters, but that's fine with me. Partly because the other shit I still like about it and that can turn games is still there and partly because Ana was absolutely fucking horrifying in the past due to it. She still is one of the more frustrating healers to deal with if you are up against a good one, but now it doesn't feel like she's created some sort of unstoppable god Tracer who cannot even be seen and now you are DEAD.

Gods I hope I get pushed back to the last point in Anubis or some shit and have a Symmetra I can boost during the enemy team's last pushes. I mean. Doing that to anyone and then grenading all of both teams in general is pretty great but current beast Sym needs to be even more beastly. Perhaps she won't be outpacing even the time traveling idiot, but she'll still be a beast. A horrifying ridiculous beast of a woman. AHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHA.

 

MAN an Ana with her grenade and half an ounce of situational awareness is the worst to deal with. I would nearly take out a group of four and WHOOPS now they're super healthy again, so fuck me I guess.

(And this why MURDER GRANDMA is the fun pastime we all need to remember.)

 

That's one of the main reasons she is my go to heroes for defense at the end if I wasn't her already. Her grenade is annoying as fucking shit and when everyone is grouped up like that it's easy to hit a bunch of people on both sides with it. So now we're not just super healthy but you're super unhealthy. And my guys take more healing while you can't be healed whatsoever.

And I continue to maintain that an Ana pro strat is to situate yourself directly behind someone's ass and just repeatedly fire. Bastions are some of my favorites to have around at the ends of games like that.

 

the random character every time you respawn holiday match is getting super annoying, it seems like every time i play it, my team does okay for a while and then the other team gets a random mix that just clicks and they steamroller us :| and since ult charges get reset when you change characters, a team that's getting killed a lot can't get ults to try to break the cycle, while the team that's staying alive and winning already gets all their ults to keep stomping us.

 

I've found that for draw matches on comp, Ana is the hero to go with. If your team is good, you'll be keeping the other team back anyways, and as Ana, grinding down the opposing team's healing and boosting your own is fantastic. You usually won't have enough time to build an ult anyways as a healer, so the clutch res utility of Mercy is null. (You definitely won't have enough time if your team is getting slaughtered too fast for you to damage boost and the opposing Ana keeps fucking up your ability to heal.)

 

I still haven't tried competitive. I might eventually because EH. BORED ONE DAY.

In other news Morven and I have learned together that Mercy and Ana make a lovely duo.

Ok so this...is like my one big issue with that mode is definitely when you can't oppose the other team. It's my favorite mode. I really love mystery match. But christ it can be merciless.

 

That's about why we started, because we were bored, everyone in quickplay was assholes anyways so if we were going to deal with them, might as well grind up some of those comp points to buy the shiny weapons.

I think Mercy/Ana and Mercy/Lucio are some of the best for healing combos (or Zenyatta/Ana or Zenyatta/Lucio) because Ana and Lucio both have really good AOE heals while Zenyatta and Mercy are strong single-target healers. Which means that if I'm Mercy, I can usually let the Lucio or Ana take on the group upkeep while I focus the tank or damage boost someone, and then if shit hits the fan we can both double down.

Mercy/Zenyatta just doesn't have the same utility for switching (though the damage output must be obscene) and Ana/Lucio works pretty well but ends up leaving Lucio almost redundant.

Oh no, don't get me wrong, the damage boost and whatnot is still super beastly, it's just that personally my main reason I loved nano boosting Reapers is cause how much ground they could cover when ulting. I will miss Beyblade Reaper. And with Symmetra, she already does obscene damage, so the main draw for me was the ability to cover more ground between targets. Like, I got boosted as Symmetra, and it was lovely, but I could only reach two enemies, and that kinda sucked. I ate them alive, but damn I wish I coulda earned my dear Ana some more assist points.

 

Also, I played my monthly ten minutes of Reaper a bit ago and my Ana kept nano boosting me and I felt super wasteful cause I was never near enough anyone to make use of it. Old boost coulda sped me up enough to kill at least one motherfucker with it, but nope. Not a one nano boost assist for that Ana. Hate that. Wanna make you proud, Nana, but I'm only a shotgun dude in a world fulla dudes on ledges and across the way.

i tried ana for the first (serious) game in a while & i... actually enjoyed it?? i'm not the greatest & my timing is a lil off on the boosts (also... teammates... don't run behind things when nana's trying to give you things... pls) but it was fun! as solo heals it was a bit hard though
