Plays a mournful tune for not having cross-console servers. :( I mean, I know why they don't, but still.
I died to get this ult off, but SO worth it. Not shown: the subsequent rez from our team's Mercy or the Team Kill announcement that followed not long after. Spoiler: LIVING THE DREAM
Got the entire team frozen, and with the Mercy rez following, I imagine it was pretty easy to just wipe that entire team while they were still stunned. Mei is a goddamn BEAST in play rn. Though apparently Genji can reflect her ult if he gets it while she's in the middle of throwing it.
getting a good mei ult is so satisfying. also the worst thing to be against. [high fives you across the internet]
(the actual killing of the team wasn't all me, of course, by the time I was back up there wasn't much left to do but icicle the Bastion in back. Our Reinhardt got loose in the popsicle gallery.)
This kinkmeme thread has some interesting thoughts about Overwatch daemons. I love the Reaper and Mercy headcanons especially, and also blue orchard bee for Symmetra. I don't think that Junkrat would be a weasel, though. A while ago I tentatively decided that he'd be a Lesser Bilby, which are extinct, formerly endemic to the Australian desert, and apparently more aggressive than Greater Bilbies. He and Roadhog definitely have to be something native to Australia no matter what. I do like the idea of Roadhog being something small and herbivorous - maybe a small deer?
Roadhog's implied to be Maori, so maybe something from New Zealand rather than Australia. Re: Junkrat: nah, man. He's got a bird. I'm thinking either a kookaburra or an Aussie magpie. I'd do German Shepherd for 76 rather than the Rottweiler they had him pegged as. Torbjorn has the meanest badger, which is a pretty high bar. Mei's got a puffin. He's unfairly adorable. :::PPP
Oh shit, that's my post! :D I'll be honest, the only reason I went for weasel Junkrat is cause he's tall and skinny and physical matchups that sorta vaguely match personality are my jam. See, Symmetra.
It seems like there aren't many animals endemic to NZ but maybe Roadhog could be a gecko of some sort? Or alternatively a marine mammal, and he hasn't seen his daemon in years. Or he could be a kakapo! oh shit, magpie!junkrat is excellent. Also I was just thinking: didn't he grow up and settle in a post-disaster wasteland full of mutated critters? So his daemon, whatever it is, would probably also be mutated, because those are the only animals he's familiar with. So he could have a weird giant body-horror magpie (like regular ones aren't frightening enough)! Whether or not it's mutated, though, I like the idea that his daemon is just as beat up as he is - scarred, maybe missing a limb or an eye. I think that daemons don't usually keep signs of injuries like that, but when they do it's a sign of pretty bad past mental trauma. And junkrat is definitely a candidate for that :( I was wondering about Mei earlier, but of course she's a puffin, how could I have not thought of that :P
Is blue, and pretty, and bees are v orderly animals who make stuff and build orderly little societies where everyone fufills their function for the good of the society as a whole. was what I was going for, anyways.
Okay so after consultation with Sibling: Alternate one for Mercy: Snake. Because caduceus- they're traditionally associated with medicine. Zarya: Bear Hanzo: Wolf Genji: Sparrow McCree: Golden eagle Everybody is ??? about Bastion because there's always a bird there, but they can't actually tell whether or not it's just an ordinary bird that really loves him. Sibling also suggested that Roadhog could just have a tiny pot-bellied pig. The small adorable kind. :::PPP
Zarya totally has a bear, and Mei totally has a puffin, and the puffin sleeps on top of the bear. it is so.
things i have accomplished today(ish): got told to "suick a ****" by some guy i had just icicled in the face. killed a Tracer with her own pulse bomb without dying gotten a 21-kill streak with Symmetra in a Watchpoint Gibraltar defense where the attacking team never once touched the payload, and finished the match without dying
There is something intensely satisfying about finishing a match without dying. Usually when I'm Pharah, I can lay that success at the feet of my healers, but still.
I went 6-0 as Mercy once, entirely because I had a Roadhog to hide behide. Roadhogs are better walls then Reinhardt cause they can be killing while you heal them. With Reinhardts it's like, okay, nobody's taking damage cept those dudes who ran way ahead and I sure as fuck ain't going after them, oops now everyone got stir crazy and do I abandon the payload to save my team or? And then they die all scattered and I can't revive more than one at a time. Roadhogs let you wade into the thick of it, and also hide your bod real good. Spend time shooting straight through a Roadhog, guarantee you'll get a couple kills.
