A hero with no movement abilities and a reload action on her gun. I am getting the feeling that this person doesn't understand the major utility of D.Va.

 

I'd say the gun is a touch OP right now in PTR but overall she is not going to be OP on launch, I'm pretty sure.

Oh, and of course The Pedophilia Discourse is already well underway about Orisa.

....Orisa has like. no offense powers besides her weapon. and also is SLOW how is that at all like D.va, aside from being big and metal.

 

but what's the first thing an anti thinks of when a new character is introduced? All the "bad things" that someone somewhere might do with it.

The pulls over distances thing is clearly a bug due to Sombra's hit box bug (Where you can be killed after you've already teleported away / back to your tele thing). Otherwise! Super cool and interesting!

 

I think I isolated the thing that so annoys me about people trotting out how many Ults Bastion can live through under perfect conditions and provided literally nothing else is currently touching him; Mei exists. Mei and Reaper can both go invulnerable for basically the entire length of most damage dealing ults, and Mei is also static when she's doing her survival thing, which means after she's done and done and everyone around her has died or moved away from the attack, then she gets dogpiled and swiftly destroyed. Because!! Something that makes you highly resistant to damage at the cost of making you perfectly stationary has a proper risk vs reward thing going down!! Because maybe you survive the ult, but then you're down to 100 hp, your heal is depleted, and your team is no longer supporting you so you get fucking melted.

I just. I wish people would stop yelling like the current state of the game is unchangeable. Live with it for a bit, see what happens in the future. The game is in flux, let changes happen, roll with it and see where it gets you. If it sucks, hey, whatever, it'll change. Have some fucking fun with it. It can't be RUINED FOREVER if the devs are actively changing shit according to player feedback.

Honestly, given that ulting a Bastion was an insta kill for a while-- in turret mode, he just can't move and get away fast enough most of the time-- it's kind of nice. And then... the heal runs out. That's the limiter. Running face first into a Bastion shooting them was always a dumb strat, and the fact that it was a viable dumb strat was a problem.

 

I kill Bastion all the time. All you need is to flank him or shoot from behind a shield.

 

Yes! And people kept listing Bastion as a Rein counter because they burn through his shield in like four fucking seconds of sustained fire, but four fucking seconds of being unable to damage anyone is enough time to kill a Bastion or force them to reposition, which means they'll be easier to kill because ironclad only effects sentry and tank modes. A Pharah may take five shots to kill a Sentry Bastion, but at the ranges she can stay at she's untouchable by a sentry Bastion and can boop a Rein shield and pocket healer away, letting her team follow up on her damage. And if Bastion leaves sentry to run away, they lose ironclad and are still a massive fucking box that's just about the easiest target in the game to hit. Bastion's an easier target than Zarya, a fucking tank.

But! Looks like they're bumping ironclad down to 20% damage reduction, and they've already capped total damage reduction at 50%, so a nanobastion is literally no different than any other goddamned hero, so hopefully people'll shut the hell up.

God fucking damn Sombra can make it across the capture the flag maps quick. Things like two quick flag captures on my end or going lol you thought you could take the flag murder.

Thought I'd drop by to share Sibling's theory that the reason Blizzard has been so stubbornly refusing to buff Sombra is because they were playing the long game re: balance once they added Orisa. 'cause EMP or hacking Orisa is going to wreck her, as a tank with 400 health who relies heavily on her skills to reduce or block damage.

 

Hacking already wrecks most tanks and Tracer. Reins, Zaryas, and D.vas especially are basically Sombra chow once hacked, and a defense that's too dependent on any of those utterly falls apart once you land the hack.

Honestly, my ideal Sombra hack buff would be that hacked turrets, teles, and shield gens temporarily work for your team now. That'd be fuckin baller. I see a lot of blibbering about Sombra's damage output not being great, but IDK, it works alright for me. Like, you can down a tank with one clip if you mostly hit headshots. There's a case to be made for Sombra's hack just not being that debilitating, just on acounta guns still work and are perfectly able to kill a mof, which means right from the start that Mei is just plain better at disruption than Sombra'll ever be. I don't really know how you'd fix that! Maybe lean more on her support capabilities? Give her an ability to hack allies to overclock their weapons for a tick or reset cooldowns? I dunno! Invisibility oughta be a bit smoother. A quieter sound cue would be nice, and maybe instead of being an ability with a cooldown, it could work like Defense Matrix or Bastion's heal, on a resource system and uninteruprtable by damage.
Annnd, more ideal buffs; slight base movement speed increase for Winston + recerjigering his health pool to be something like 200 hp/300 shields, for better get in and get out alive with less pocketing. Like, a pocketed Winston is a murder machine, but if you don't have a healer willing or able to make you a priority, well. Ain't impossible, but it's pretty fucking tough. A speedier monkey with a bit of regining health would be awesome.
