Tally/Shay made a lot of sense to me, it being the most interesting relationship by miles. I half-remember one of the dudes getting brain mutilated because he and Tali misused some pills, and that had some interesting elements to it, but, damn. Shay, man.
Oh my god I love the Uglies series. I am and always have been senior Book Pusher around my friends so I made everyone read it, I love it so much. Tally/Shay is one of the first f/f pairings lil me really shipped, because that is so perfectly one of my pairing aesthetic- two people who are sometimes best friends and sometimes bitter enemies and the world changes around them and whether they love or hate each other or both they are always the most important, the driving force behind each others lives, two planets always pulling together and pushing apart, following each other across the cosmos. It is a Thing for me. Heterosexual love triangle always annoyed me too simply because I didn't ever see the point- both boys are important to her, obv, but it always seemed like Shay was the driving force and tbh Zane was okish but I always just called David Boring Perfect Dave in my head- I can't even name any character traits of his other than hippy.
I was really into the Uglies series in middle school, and I read the Midnighters series around that time as well, but I don't remember either of them particularly well, certainly not well enough to remember pairings - I really should reread them at one point. I love his Leviathan trilogy though - would definitely recommend.
The only ones I've read have been the Leviathan books, mostly because of seeing the awesome map and having to read whatever book inspired that. Generally YA isn't my bag.
You mean Tally<3<Shay. The thing I really remember of the uglies books was the slang. damn that was some good futureslang.
I read all four Uglies books, at least two of the ...uh, Leviathan and Behemoth (I think) series, and the weird but still awesome vampire one. It's been a few years so don't get me into a discussion about specifics, but yes, he's mother-flippin' awesome.
oh gosh and now i remember the Midnighters AHHHHH the Midnighters! I think the school library only had the first, maybe the second, though now that i remember I want to finish the series.
crashes through the doors into this thread I'm reading Midnighters again, and I just finished the Uglies series, and BOTH SERIES ARE SO GOOD AND I LOVE MIDNIGHTERS WITH ALL MY HEART
