from the Log of Anomalous Items: Item Description: One cassette tape entitled The Best of Queen. When left unobserved in close proximity to other cassette tapes, item will transmogrify the tapes into exact copies of itself. Date of Recovery: 09-20-1982 Location of Recovery: The floorboard of Agent ██████'s car. Current Status: Site-88's music wing. @LadyNighteyes you've seen this, right?
How can you tell, it´s just a bar? And Gaiman and Crowley take up the same amount of space. It Was Crowleys car that transformed tapes in to book.
My brain just connected 231's references to a monster called the Scarlet King to the infamous badfic writer Ultamite Nineball and his Marty Stu's title the Crimson King. The mental images are not much fun at all.
http://www.scp-wiki.net/scp-2721 ...how many nerd-ass homestuck scps even are there? do i want to know?
also to balance that out i was recommended a series of antimemetics tales in my tumblr askbox and they are really good.
Half the comments on the SCP were back-and-forth arguing about whether it was totally ruined by the fact that it explicitly referenced Tumblr and Homestuck, so I'm doubly unsurprised.
that SCP isn't my bag because i felt the writing was a little, hmm, didn't capture the clinical tone quite as much as i'd like? it felt very personal and that's not something i like in an SCP. but referencing real-life things does, in most cases i think, add a lot of personality to a piece, so that's not something i'd criticize.
to me it seems like a self insert fanfic hosted on the wrong site. if it was on ao3 id think it was a lot cuter.
That's apparently how the first version read to a lot of people, but then it got a huge rewrite, I assume there are still some elements of that left.
