seth yells about stuff

so my plan at this point is to essentially build a small cabinet for the moving parts to sit inside. since i'm having to use a smaller drive wheel i'm going to need more of them, which means they'll be more vulnerable to being bumped. hopefully this will give them enough protection that that isn't such an issue.

i'm partially basing this design on a beautiful spinning wheel i saw once and got to use a little over a decade ago at a fiber festival. the owner was destashing and offered it to me for $200, but i only had about $20 to my name at the time. i've never seen another one like it and it's haunted me ever since.

 

going through my stash of Random Stuff today i found this collection of stone and glass beads that were originally destined to be spindle weights. instead i think they're going to be glued together to make drive wheels.
