I mean, I'm Norm the Genie, but people often forgot that the "Norm" part is just as important - or more important - than "the Genie" part of my name. That my whole life shouldn't be about granting their silly wishes. I'm honestly surprised that people here see me as a person, really.

An' that's how most people are gonna feel. You're a bit funny, or you're slightly annoying, or whatever. People just don't have the spare emotional energy to devote a lot of feelings to strangers.

And the fact of the matter is that he probably wouldn't understand a damn thing about what happened if you tried to explain any of the weirdmaggedon bullshit, and if he did he wouldn't give a single greasy shit stain in either direction over your involvement. But the way you're going you'd be convinced he loved or hated you ten minutes in and likely be obnoxious as fuck about it, too.

*return of the facepalm* I meant change and mature. As in, from an embarrassingly intense and deeply unfounded crush to... well, not that. Hopefully to something where I can actually interact with you like a human being instead of the ideals you're painting on me. It's uncomfortable.

That faith is, strangely enough, appreciated. Even if you don't really know enough to base it on - I guess that's not the point of faith, huh?

I doubt there's "some dude" who can't get over it, and even if there is, he's not your problem. Learning from your mistakes is.

I'm not glad we have that kind of objectification in common, but I'm a little grateful that you get it, at least. But you are a person. People are people. That really, really shouldn't be as complicated as we keep making it.

Well it sounds like they've had a few incidents of Strange and Interesting newcomers before. But I suppose you're right, the story plus the tail is more likely to convince them they're having a psychotic break instead of you tripping without luggage.
