Dreamscapes and other interstitia are real places, and while nothing that happens here directly affects us in our physical worlds, the emotional reverberations remain with us.

Conversations here are sometimes echoed in the real world. Dreamscapes are imaginary, but they are also wellsprings of creative energy and what you feed here may grow into reality.

Change is possible. I have seen it. I have been part of it. But it's very hard. There will always be people who have more than others. There doesn't have to be hunger or gross inequality. But breaking a system is tricky business, and we're still trying to figure out how to rebuild it without it depending on a very small group of mostly trustworthy, very well intentioned people who are very kind and very, very tired.

Because the tiredness is when you are tempted. Or when you stop caring, and that's even worse.

What gives her the right is that you hurt your brother's feelings right in front of her and then expressed the common misconception that things which happen in interdimensional interstitial spaces don't have permanent effects on people's minds and souls. Call me cynical, but every revolution we've had has ended in genocide of thousands of other sentient species too. For us, that might not be possible.

It's fascinating seeing how others manage to succeed where we consistently fail.

You know, Sanchez, if Ford decided to kick your ass right now, I'd sit back and watch with popcorn.

 

Basically everyone I know right now has been completely fucking fucked by revolution! If there's a good way of going about that, it's clearly not charging in half-afted, and there's 4 million years of Cybertronian history that shows why that's a bad idea! You've gotta... I dunno, be a little more fluid.

*grins* Ah. I get it now. Fucking up the system in small ways. Taking little pieces. Minor changes.

Kinda like how I used to mess up my masters' wishes, back when I was enslaved and stuck in my lamp. It didn't revolutionize anything, but it gave me a bit of power. Enough power not to lose hope.

 

You know, I was thinking about that, and I think the fact that we're so very interstellar is why that happened. A revolution contained to one solar system can still go violently wrong, but at least it will only fuck up a finite amount of people. But we're so long-lived and technologically advanced, we can sort of... fuck up an infinite amount of other people just fighting amongst ourselves?

Like... note how all the colonies went off on their own and didn't stay in contact. I thought it was just because- well, our titan died! But maybe it was on purpose, because the only way people could get along was to not talk?

 

Yeah. I wouldn't do everything I did over again. But I don't regret taking matters into my own hands to get the resources Stentato and I needed in order to get the skills to advance in other ways. We wouldn't have the job we do now, the 100% above-board gotten-on-our-own-skill job, if I hadn't done sketchy stuff.

I don't really regret what I did either. Well, the joining Bill part, I regret that, of course, but not the messing up wishes part. I mean, I sorta get that my masters were people and maybe I shouldn't have fucked with them, but... they were also jerks, so...

 

Ah, but you see, I shouldn't have been wasting my mind and my hands on Cat-4 citizens. /sarcasm.

Huh. See, turning to crime is what led to joining a revolution for me, so that's a bit different. Crime... felt better some days than others. The days where we made choices we all felt good about were also the kinds of days where we ended up with the entirety of the Black Disciples after us, though, so ymmv.

 

Sometimes I think you can judge a mech by the quality of their enemies. I don't see why it'd be much different for organics!
