I'm inclined to go with @Silverburst on this. I don't think it's possible for everyone in a given place to be nice, unless there are some fairly extreme outside factors. Which is a whole other thing in and of itself.

I leave this place for a few days and a revolution is shut down then another is started and now everyhing is full of those silly little organic pets Thundercracker is so fond of.

Princess Mikotsu was envious that the Sea God chose her sister to rule the Sea Kingdom, and so she and her followers staged a rebellion to kill Princess Uomi, and slaughter or convert all who followed her.

They very well might have succeeded and killed or enslaved everyone had the Great Sorcerer not sealed them away as a last ditch effort!

 

Have you ever considered that the pursuit of perfection and utopia is the root of broken societies? That perhaps it's our constant struggle for a righteous society that leads us so frequently down darker paths? If we just acknowledged all the petty cruelties, we could move forward while knowing that imperfection is inherent to life and we just have to work the best we can with that knowledge?

On the other hand, eating the rich seems like a viable strategy in every situation.

That's a very good point, but I'm not looking for a utopia or a perfect society. Just one where the power structure isn't completely corrupt and people have a reasonable chance to be happy and comfortable.
