Well... here's how the Total Layman Genie explains the difference: physicists work with the fundamental forces and structure of the universe - gravity, the speed of light, the multiverse, stuff like that. Physicians work with bodies, with organic matter, with fixing people up. Ford's a physicist, Sev's a physician.

I don't know if you are aware of this, but in most humanoid species, only females get pregnant. Male pregnancy only occurs in cases where the man has two X chromosomes or an androgen insensitivity (which usually results in infertility) and has the physical conformation usually found in females.

On the off chance that you are thinking what I fear you might be thinking: No. Nope. Absolutely not. Not happening. No way in pits. Absolutely no deliberate contact with the DJD is permitted under any circumstances by any crew member.

 

I actually do have a couple of minor degrees in biology but none of it would explain Papyrus being pregnant, because according to every biology course I have ever taken, Papyrus should not actually exist. Clearly, he does. Hence, my curiosity.

And "magic" as an explanation usually just means "shit that we don't understand and are not going to bother trying to figure out because that's not what we want to do with our time".
