That is good to hear! Not the bit about... Medics in general are usually trustworthy! I bet the other medics here will back me up on that too!! We only want to help!

If you don't mind me interjecting - it just depends on your definition of medic. There's the people who have their hardwired protocols, and there's people who took the classes and may or may not have scruples to go with it.
Like me.

 

...Cybertronians continue to be alien. Know plenty of medics who'd gladly chop up someone close enough to death for parts. Wouldn't call that trustworthy.

 

And then there are medics that make such as me. Over 20 years later and I'm still not sure if it was a kindness or a curse. Or probably neither, just an interesting line of work.

 

That is certainly one way of phrasing it -- especially if your species is any like mine, and the stuff you see puts the slag the engineers in university pulled to shame.
There's ways to patch up joints that do not involve duct tape up and around your interface array for "extra security".

I was dead and happy, dammit. Do you know what it's like to be dragged back? To a body that they had restored to some form of life, but not the one it had when I first was in it? I wear a body that looks like me but it isn't me. It's a completely different lifeform. Sometimes I still creep me out.

 

And this is part of why we dismantle corpses. Keeps the Shades from playing tricks on their brother with our frames.

This... This weirds me out. Sorry. I um. Hyperactive Medic Protocols are not... a good thing? I mean I don't know if I would... want to switch them off completely! They are very central to who I am!! But... It um. It hurts. It's not fun!

 

Mmmhh... deities? Semimythical figures of dubious origins? Thirteen as a whole; Axij (embodiment of betrayal, necromancer, defiler) and Mala (the Trickster, the combiner, He Who Laughs At The World) specifically are the two most likely to be behind any direct resurrections-- Axij to disrupt the turnings of the universe, Mala because he's... quite honestly a bit of a slagger-- [Gess makes a quick gesture in the air by her head]-- who enjoys protecting our planet about as much as he enjoys pranking his siblings.

 

Alas, the thing they grew inside my body's template just got same old me stuffed back into it and nailed in place. Literally, they call the things that anchor my soul in here "nails". Though not hardware store ones, something way more fancy than that.

Still, if anyone offers to bring you back from the dead, say no. It sucks. At least I'm useful, though.

 

Though thinking about it, there ARE thirteen Gods. Well, there are twelve and the Uncounted.

 

...you don't say no to a Shade. They are... rather bad-tempered in legends, for the most part.

We all come back eventually anyway, if one believes the stories. It's the dead-frame-living-spark bit that messes things up. And makes the Warden (Lost, Fallen, take your pick-- he who guards the Well Of All Sparks that those within might rest) so angry.

That's what we believe too, that we come back. But in one's proper time. Not like this. I didn't want this gift, but I figure that I may as well try and use it for good and do some worthwhile things in a second lease of kind-of-life.

There's a nameless one in your beliefs too? The same things do keep cropping up.

The other sucky thing about being once-dead is that this body does not work nearly as well as the first time around.

 

No judgement - heh - only pointing out that not all medics are trustworthy, for various reasons. 'specially if you got organics in the mix, or the backalleys, there's some that specialise in mechanic medicine, and there's some real mean slaggers out there.
Others just don't know what they're doing.
But hyperactive protocols doesn't sound like fun.
