Swiftwing is perhaps on to something when he says Cybertron's Thing is fighting, because I never did either. I was a combat medic. I had to defend my patients. I swore to get their consent and to try to save lives whenever possible, but sometimes you have to kill an enemy to save an ally. I regret that the war happened, I regret that the death I caused was necessary, but I won't regret the soldiers I shot so my patients would live.

 

My hypothetical is dependent on us having enough resources, admittedly. You are far too practical to not consider such a thing.

And having to patch up someone twice just because someone immediately shot through your patch-up is less efficient than removing the immediate threat and then doing the patch-up.
Unless the patient is immediately dying, in which case all bets are off.

For all he was just talking about medics being dangerous-- and we are-- I don't think Life Support quite understands seeing medics as a threat. (If you would like to correct me, @Life Support, by all means-- but your phrasing earlier was... less than ideal.) There's a reason most sane mechs won't let an unfamiliar medic near them-- pits, even I wouldn't offer to treat someone I'm not already mind-linked with.

I am raising five kids and living in a house with at least five other kids and that did absolutely nothing to quench my desire to have the experience of conceiving and birthing kits with the man I love and raising them from infancy. I love the children I already have very much and they are very much my kids, but I missed out on their early years and I still want that experience. And I want them to enjoy growing up with little kits who adore them running around, too.
