I've spent a lot of my life killing people, although less than some might have expected. I didn't have a choice about being born into a world at war. I did have a choice about accepting my oath, and I don't regret that, but... *she sighs* Let's just say I'm glad to be in partial retirement. A lifetime of mostly being at war was exhausting.

I loved fighting, and striking evil out of our lands. I loved talking through problems, and bringing people back after they'd given up on themselves. I loved our adventures. But I loved my children and my library and the courtyards and orchards more.

I'm... trying to grow roses outside the cottage at my new home, but I must admit I'm not doing anything impressive with them yet. Apparently one of my alternate continuities had formal gardens in Varenia, and was gifted an entire rose garden by one of her lovers, but I spent my lifetime mostly based in a climate that wasn't very rose-friendly.

Sort of! He can fly above things to get light. But trees have to be rooted, and they're fighting for resources, remember? And one way to get the most ground-resources is to shade out all the other trees so they die.
