@Pree Aesma Time flows pretty weird here, so I'm not sure when I'll end up, but I'm gonna go back to 4 minutes before their deaths to see if I can avert their fate. It would make things easier if you would be able to hear me then, too.

 

Yeah, you can talk to kids about stuff if they volunteer. And Loreli and Oneira have a lot of experience helping people solve problems, although there are no adults on Alternia, so most of those people were also kids. Sometimes 14 year olds give good advice, but don't kid yourself that it's not 14 year old advice. You're just learning to be a free adult, and so are they--but, for instance, they're not having sex and they don't need to hear about adults' issues with that, and they also can't help.

But Norm, come on. You know Chroma struggles with a lot of social anxieties and also with language and people in general. Asking her for advice or sympathy for your adult romantic disappointment isn't right, especially not when she's trying to process a change in the first secure home she has ever had. That's exploiting her confusion to make yourself feel better, when what she needs is to be reassured that her needs will still be met and that everyone still cares for her and nothing is going to change in her life other than seeing us kiss one more person.

Talking to her about how bad you feel when she's scared is actually mean. She needs to hear that we all still love her and are going to take care of her, and you should not undermine her relationship with Ford and me because we are the only adults she trusts.

I am sorry for your loss. Even in situations where you know death is not permanent, it doesn't... change the experience of losing someone.
