-freezes up juuuust a little bit, wings dipping as much as they can-
My wings don't move as much as a proper jet's would I'm sorry.

 

[His wings tilt downwards, their fluttering now more worried than excited.]
No no it's okay I didn't realize you weren't a jet! Your wings are built sort of like Venture's so I thought maybe-- but that doesn't matter, sorry, I shouldn't have assumed!

 

-shoots Whisperwind a cautiously hopeful glance-
'Sokay! I'm... a drone. Don't have jet engines.

 

Okay! [He shrugs, settling down some.] Anyway-- hi, nice to meet you, I don't recognize your designation where are you? See anything interesting recently?

 

I'm not on your ship! -he grins- Have my own crew and family. We scavenge.

 

Ah okay! Good luck with that then! [He smiles.] What are your family like? I mean obviously you think they're nice but...?

 

-he brightens- They're great! I love them a lot. Even though none of them are fliers.

 

You're all alone in the sky? [His wings droop for a moment, but he doesn't dwell on the thought.] At least you've got someone, though! Is it weird, only being with grounders? I can't even imagine!

 

I race them when they're on the ground sometimes! But they're faster than me. -he shrugs a little awkwardly- It is weird sometimes not to be able to show them what I see, though.

 

Speed isn't the only thing that matters! [His smile goes a little shy.] But... yeah, it's nice to have someone who understands the air, there's only so much words can do! I'm sure you'll find someone eventually!

 

That would be nice! Though I love all my grounders. A LOT.
-he gives Whisperwind a shy little glance-
Do you want to fly now?

 

We could, couldn't we? [He looks up, stretching his wings for a moment.] Yeah sure let's! Do you need space for takeoff?

 

Little bit, not much, won't take long!
-He disengages his fingers from Whisperwind's, and backs up to transform and take off-

 

[Whisper backs off respectfully, and waits until Skydrop's in the air to follow him.

Nyooom!]

 

-While Skydrop can't actually do many of the more acrobatic things jets can, he has picked up a few tricks to play with Whisperwind with-

 

Trine is flyer thing. Wingmates. Catch you. Watch your back.

...slag, you're old as us, aren't you? Haven't heard that in an age and a half. Almost makes Vos ranks sound nice, even.
