*shrugs* Knowing when to back off is important. Realizing that those troll kids earlier would only respond to "but we're being invaded" with "ignore harder" - back off. Realizing you recognize others in similar positions as people and are aware that you're making a possibly illogical exception for yourself - back off.

I know from maladaptive coping mechanisms, after all. And even without taking any psych specialties, I can tell you that you don't ever take away someone's coping mechanisms unless there's something to replace them.

Most people don't seem to remember much from here - impressions, sometimes. And yes, coping mechanisms are the behaviors and attitudes that help people cope with difficult things in life. Sometimes unhealthy relationships can fit in that category, for sure.

A good war is a good, normal, healthy way to keep a civilization's blood pumping. However, I would be loathe to recommend self-imposed genocide in the event of defeat.

There can't very well be bloodshed if there is no blood left to be shed, after all.
