Coping mechanisms are pretty morally neutral. They help you survive, first and foremost. Ideally they even help you stay kind of sane while you do so. And deciding it's easier to feel understanding and maybe even compassion towards someone you literally can't get away from is probably going to help you feel saner for an indeterminate future than being full of more destructive emotions. I'm definitely not here to judge.

Fact! It is physically impossible to stay truly, pusher-poundingly angry at someone~.
Your body just can't handle that level of anger-hormones all the time~.
It doesn't mean you're too weak to stay angry~.
For example~.
