Well my country's only been around for like, four hundred years. And I think human civilization as a whole as we know it is only like... 3000 years old? Don't quote me on that, I'm shit at history.

But yeah we uh. Gutted the space program, yeah. Because people weren't going to be able to use it for war and we'd already been to the moon and it was expensive, or something. I guess. Like I said, I just make the coffee, I don't actually know why all that money went to the military instead or something.

He takes another sip, humming under his breath.
"Quite fascinating! Are you all of lunar origin then? How peculiar!"

"Don't be ridiculous. I have friends with access to aeroplanes and it is quite the feat! No human shall ever fly farther than, potentially, the moon! And even that seems quite unlikely. How would that even be achievable?"

He looks at her as if that should end that discussion. Duh.

Not really, no. I'm pretty sure most of the people who are part of the space program are like, refusing to let it become part of the military that way. I mean, I guess our pilots and stuff do come from the Air Force, and I think a lot of astronauts might be military members but... I dunno. Pretty much every scientist I've met hates the idea of building war machines, you know?
