"Bosom" is a word for the area of my anatomy you were gesturing to - it's considered quite private and the sight is reserved for one's intimate partners. What you're indicating is my cravat - you're more than welcome to look at it. In fact, I can take it off and you can examine it that way, if you like. So, I've been working on expanding the capabilities of my power - psionic would be the term in my dimension - for healing. So far, I've had some success helping more subtle bodily processes do their healing work faster, but I haven't had anyone in our household dealing with anemia yet. (At least no one that's come to me or showed enough symptoms... it's possible some of the varying people with eating problems might have lower iron than ideal, but I'm trying to approach them gently.)

I'd be willing to try for you, but I'd completely understand if the words "healing experiment" make you completely uncomfortable.

@Silverburst - humans wear clothing layers (the colorful structured fabric you're admiring) over their natural organic bodies, and a lot of societies have extreme cultural taboos about when and where viewing or even acknowledgement of the unclothed form is appropriate.

Yes, this, exactly. Thank you! As I've said, the sight of such an area is reserved for intimate partners and medical professionals treating it only. And while I am a doctor, most other people would consider speaking of such a thing quite inappropriate. I wasn't aware clothing wasn't a constant! All these things I'm learning today.

[They study their hand for a moment, considering, but...] A three-dimensional scan would be useful, but I wouldn't want to damage the piece, and any of the instruments I could produce might prove just as dangerous. I don't generally have issues with more delicate internals getting caught in my joints, but I fully admit I have no idea how fragile this cravat is.

I can probably encourage your marrow into a brief period of excessive productivity... well, maybe not yours-specifically, but.

People really only get weirder the more I travel.

Like I said, I've been experimenting. This is definitely still a new experiment, and probably going to be affected significantly by Marcus' unique medical status, but- I was able to help some of the genetically-normal radiation poisoning patients process through the healing stages faster when I tried, so speeding up other body systems ought to be possible.

I would have been more nervous experimenting in realspace, and in a situation of uncertain safety, like when we met.

No, I've never heard such a thing! I hope it becomes known soon - in Edinburgh they have done several successful transfusions and they're enormously helpful.

I suspect it has something to do with religion - many other societies around the world aren't patriarchal in quite the way my own is - but I'm not a sociologist, so I couldn't tell you. Although as an admirer of Sappho, I'm quite inclined to agree with you on all points. Societies rarely develop in a way that is equitable to all, it seems.

We have vaccines, actually - smallpox and just recently rabies. But perhaps we can have more! And life support machines - why, that sounds almost beyond belief. Wonderful!

My cravat is made of spun organic fibers from a plant - but I do have more. Here, you can examine another one, and I'll show you how I tie it as well, if you'd like. I'm more worried about the damage to your joints if it gets caught - I've seen some machinery get very badly damaged when similar materials got tangled in them.
