...when I was born, I was born with an incurable condition. From a young age, I was weak and listless. I'd get attacks of sharp pain, get sick much easier than others, and would swell up at seemingly random intervals. When I was 15, I died, and then I rose again.

I should introduce myself again. I'm Sickle Cell Anemia.

 

Huh. Interesting. Reaper, that's what I'm called.

Too bad this is a dream, you'd be useful in Talon.

 

It can get exhausting pretty fast if I'm not careful, yeah. I've been known to crash for a day or more after doing serious battlefield healing... some of that was my own "brilliant" ideas for stretching myself farther, though.

*grabs a muffin and starts taking bites between sentences*

I'm still figuring out a lot of the outer limits of my powers, but so far I've been able to accelerate wound and burn healing pretty easily, and like I was telling Valiska, I helped along some of my friends with radiation poisoning until they'd finally processed most of it out. It seems like I have an advantage working with physiologies I've studied medically - I can visualize more complex and subtle things, like blood production. My psionics have also recognized animals as being appropriate targets for healing, but I wouldn't want to try anything too complex on an anatomy I don't understand well.

Healing is definitely my favorite of what I've uncovered so far. Short-range teleportation is useful, but disorienting, and while minor explosions have their uses I'd rather be focusing my energy on other things if they're needed - we've got enough long-range firepower in our group most of the time.

...anyway, I'm immortal now. Anyone I touch skin-to-skin dies, but it is easy enough to manage. It's a blessing.

Reaper, I am a Sikh. I fight only in self-defense or in defense of others.

 

That is sick. I mean, I can help with some stuff, but I'm not like a healer or anything I just, uh. I can control body fluids, mostly blood but some other stuff-- just fluids, y'know? And my blood can be used for stuff and it's sort of-- well.

*He gestures at himself, and for a moment his clothes flicker from basic street clothes to something more dangerous looking. Vest, combat boots, a gas mask, belts of bloodbags and bandoleers with vials filled with (you guessed it) more blood. They return to street clothes after a few seconds.*

If I run someone else's blood through my body, or mix it with mine, it all sort of becomes like my blood? I think the dilution ration is two parts my blood to seven parts someone else's before it starts being too little to cause the change. But like, it can do stuff-- my ex would use it with his cancer patients, 'cause it'll kill most of the cancerous cells instead. And my boyfriend used to be positive before I uh. Well I mean, I sort of drained him and refilled him because he was in my way with a bunch of other cops and I just-- anyways, I mean, it can do cool shit right?

That does sound incredibly useful. And dangerous - but dangerous can be useful too.

Are - you said they called you metahuman - are metahumans unliked on your world too, then? Psionics are just starting to evolve on my world of birth, and some of the highest-profile incidents were (perhaps understandably, given social climate) rather violent. I was incredibly grateful for an opportunity to dimension-hop somewhere where I wasn't destined for lab experimentation once my powers broke through.

 

Not willing to do what has to be done. There are people in this world that need to be eradicated, first it was the omnics and now it's Overwatch itself.

 

Why do they need to be eradicated?

 

Plenty of reasons. They're traitors and they're corrupt.

 

Traitors to what? I am not familiar with your world, remember.

 

But to answer your question, I would fight to make the world a better place if violence was needed for that, although it would not be my first resort.

Yeah we're uh. Well, I mean, I guess it's not really fair to group myself in with the uh, societal stuff, since I'm not registered-- my mom was waiting a while and the nurse ended up giving her test results without ever running my DNA so. I'm registered human, not metahuman. But there's like, housing rules, and taxes, and you can't go certain places, and sometimes the cops--

It's just bad. And my ex, the doctor, he used to keep the stuff with my blood under wraps 'cause, well, Queenie's an experiment too, right? And we both saw how that went for him. And he was afraid they'd hook me up to something and use me as a filter, I guess, and just... leave me there forever. So, uh, his clinic is the only place I donate, and sometimes I'll top off there if they've got some spare bags.

*He makes a small face.*

The uh, superhero thing, that's a side thing.

 

Vviolence is needed wwhen you're gonna make the wworld betta for yourshellf! Guess it all depends on the motivvation. Gettin' ahead means steppin' on bottomfeeders along the wwavve, and that's the wwavve it's alwwavves been.

Don't mean it's gotta be you enactin' that vviolence, but it's gonna happen.
