I've read the books about your dimension and yeah, they are.

 

Mabel sighs. "Actually, the books had some problems too, though not nearly so many." She looks rueful. "I just wanted magic to be real, and...I guess I already got that wish. But hey, you know you can get rid of Voldemort if you destroy all his Horcruxes, right?" She hopes this information is potentially helpful.

 

"Fair enough." Sloane shot them a thumbs-up.

Sloane blinked. "Um....thank you....?"

"Oh yeah, right, you know things about where I'm from. ....weird. Anyway, what're yours like?"

"....I mean, assuming I knew what a Horcrux was, how to destroy one, what they might be, or where to find them, I guess that would be a start. If they weren't heavily guarded or well hidden, at least." Sloane sighed. "I'm sorry, I don't mean to be down, it's just....look, you don't live there. It's a pretty hopeless situation...and whatever a Horcrux is, if it's helpful to him and there's no limit on how many he can make, he's probably made ten by now." She shook her head. "I don't know. Maybe someone down the line can do something....but that someone's not me."

 

Fairies have crowns and insect wings and are child-sized and fly and sometimes grant wishes for miserable kids. Anti-Fairies are the counterparts of fairies and they have crowns and bat wings and are child-sized and fly and cause bad luck. Each fairy has an Anti-Fairy counterpart and vice-versa, and the counterparts are the opposites of each other. Cosmo is an idiot, and Anti-Cosmo is a genius, for example.

Pixies have gray caps and insect wings and are child-sized and fly and wear mostly gray and are obsessed with business.

 

"Mabel, you've heard of the dimension she's from?" Jame asks. Turning to Sloane, she adds, "Hello! I'm Jame. It seems my world is a work of fiction in some other dimensions, too; it's a fascinating thing."

 

Valiska sighs. "I am in several places at once, forgive me if I lag?"

She gestures to Oneira. "I was answering my foster-daughter. One of them. I am Valiska Pines. Norm mentioned me. I do dream magic, among other things. The gentleman with the glasses and the perpetually wind-blown hair is my mate, Stanford Pines. Our other mate is off doing research. Mabel is also ours, we adopted her and her brother when we had to take them back to Dimension 52 to keep them safe. We actually have quite a large family, but usually we are not all here."

She worries her lower lip between her fangs. She and Ford have enough problems without adding Voldemort to the list. If a problem is local enough to be contained in one continent, the people involved can probably solve it themselves, right?

Hopefully Mabel's suggestion is useful.

Where are you finding these materials?

 

Mabel frowns. "I'm not sure what the limit is, but you have to bind a piece of your soul to each one. And murder someone, but he wouldn't have a problem with that. I am just not sure how many pieces a soul can be splintered to without ceasing to function as one. Still, and I'm not saying I know what it's like...what about the rest of the world? Can you get out? Are they fighting the Dark Lord?"

Sloane smiled bitterly. "The rest of the world? Mostly they're just keeping their heads down and trying not to draw his attention by doing anything, but he'll get to them eventually. His big plan is to rule all of wizardkind, after all, and he can't really do that with just Europe. And travel's not exactly allowed. Apparition's a thing of the past, broomsticks have to be registered and tracked....and Muggle transportation? Don't make me laugh. The day he revealed himself to the world was the day Muggle freedoms became a thing of the past in Europe." She sighed. "We're sorta stuck. He's gonna win in the end anyway--it's not like any of us are immortal or protected from him and his many, many Death Eaters. Put a toe out of line and, well...." Sloane drew her finger across her throat. "It's just a matter of time. Even if we could find all the Horcruxes he had, we'd have to find them, destroy them....anyone willing to try would probably get killed before we even managed anything."
