Well, anyway, in myths, stuff like the seasons, life and death, the sun... it's explained by the actions of gods and spirits and other magical creatures - who are often but not always real, in my dimension anyway. The relationships these beings have with each other are, in myths, what makes the world what it is.

 

Well I guess I cant really think oph a better reason why this entire planet is a giant phuckophph sundial so Ill take it.

We can absolutely still die - I'd be out of work if not - just not of old age. Parts can be replaced almost infinitely as long as the spark is still strong.

He only dies when there is a new universe birthed, as far as I understand it.

 

Mortilus's spark has only reincarnated once, and that while Unicron was... let's say indisposed; that mech returned to the Well before the Devourer was freed, and--

--in any case he has left the cycle entirely. Which, as far as I'm aware, must be an entirely voluntary action.
