"What on Earth is going on here?" Alex wonders, taking a few steps into the space she has suddenly found herself in.

As far as food goes, I'm...not sure at all, frankly. I typically eat whatever my friends have forced upon this day.

 

I'd like to ask myself the same question, honestly.

 

"Well, at least one person's feeling similarly to me," Alex murmurs. "May I inquire who you are, exactly....?"

 

-She makes the Rave produce BLTs and hands him one.-

It is at approximately this moment Sloane realizes her sort-of-girlfriend has arrived in the rave. "ALEX!" She nearly tackles the other girl, then stops short, remembering Alex will probably get Upset if she does a Public Display of Affection, since Alex doesn't know they're in a world that the Dark Lord (probably) can't reach. "Hi, Alex!"

 

-takes the sandwich gratefully though he does kind of grimace at the thing-

Thank you. I'd share what you could considered a classic of that culture, but I'm not up to how exactly you're doing this. Also the food has a reputation for being a bit unpalatable for those unused to it. There are two separate words for what is just lumped together as just "spicy" in Basic!

-he continues to grimace at it for a bit before taking a bite. god. eating sucks. he does need to eat though and clover deserves him actually eating her damn food-

 

[Vulcan draws Sloane into a closer hug, closing her eyes and pressing her face against Sloane's forehead. She takes a deep breath, subtly smelling Sloane's hair in the process.]

...Have you tried food shakes for if you don't like eating? You know, nice flavors and texture but with the nutrition added in as a suppliment?

"Well, that's something. I also pretty much just arrived and....that's all I have so far. That, and apparently Sloane is here." Alex rubs her temples trying to put this all together. "Hi, Sloane," she adds, not wanting to neglect her best friend.

"No, no," Alex answers immediately, far too quickly. "We are. Friends." She shoots a glance at Sloane, wondering why on Earth Sloane would be so comfortable being openly excited to see her. "....Sloane, where are we, exactly?"

 

I'll keep your endorsement in mind. Possibly share my own food in the future if I can figure out how to do so and you're tolerant of heat.

"......soooooooooooort of?" Sloane hedges, before remembering Alex has no idea what's going on.

"Okay, so, it's like....a liminal....dream....something? Like, another dimension, but other people from other dimensions other than ours can end up here, and we can also get here, and some of the people here are dead but some of 'em are dreaming, and like, the Dark Lord can't really see what's happening here, so it's totally cool, which is--anyway, you should like, ask one of the smart people who can describe things better than me. But I thought you'd be super excited about this kind of place! Oh, also, you can make anything you want appear--and did you know there's another universe where--" Sloane pauses. Alex is looking a little overwhelmed. ....Maybe 'a little' is an understatement.

Alex presses her hand to her forehead. This was so very unlike Sloane, but then again if the Dark Lord couldn't see things happening here, maybe they were relatively safe. For now. She sighs, and decides to explain as simply as possible. "It's a complicated situation. We aren't actually dating, but it's also not exactly our choice."

"Okay. A liminal dreamspace. So....a transitional dimension you enter when sleeping or dead?" Alex suggests, speaking to both Sloane and the other Alex. "Mmmm....I suppose that's possible. And if we are to assume the existence of one dimension, we must assume others also exist, which would explain the....various non-humans that seem to be about, at the very least. I suppose this place is probably relatively safe from him, since if he'd been here or knew this place existed, he'd likely have done horrible things....what do you mean by 'anything you want'? If I think of something, it will just....show up? How does that work?"
She starts to descend into speaking only to herself, things about Gamp's Law of Elemental Transfiguration and dimensional applications, before suddenly remembering she's having a conversation. "Oh! Sorry. Anyway, yes, this is all very interesting. So....I assume I'm dreaming, then?"
