I was frustrated with the standard issue weaponry I received as an infantrywoman in Russian Defence Forces during a battle early in my service. So I ripped it off the hull of an armored vehicle and used it to annihilate the opposing omnic forces. It's performance was pleasing, so I kept using it after the battle ended. The RDF accepts this. The boost to troop morale it provides is incredible, and I am both stronger and more mobile than an armored vehicle.
