"I'm with Bill in my surprise at this, though I suppose in our company you two were safe as it was. I'm also very glad you and Valiska were able to addend!"

 

"Not at all! You never know until you know, and now you do!"

Bill pauses, nodding once more in understanding. "Sometimes you end up learning the hard way, and hurting people, even without really meaning to- But you can't take back your actions, that's out and done with. You can only make new ones and hope that you're doing right by them now."

"Considering the company we kept for that event, I'd end up being more worried about whoever tried to attack us! Haha!"

 

*weak grin* I am beginning to realize that, yeah.

 

"Honestly, only a fool would've tried... But I'm glad no such thing occurred. The only trouble caused was by you when you tried to set your wedding gown on fire." He chuckles at the memory, "Speaking of which, I'm really glad your gown miraculously survived."

 

He returned a similar expression, resting his weight on his cane. "It's not all bad- you live and learn, and from that you end up changing, one way or another."

"There's plenty of fools out there, though, who probably would have! We lucked out this time around, especially property-damage wise!"
Bill made a face at the mention of the gown. "I'm probably much less glad about that..."

 

"The only damage that was caused was the fires... I'm impressed how quickly the fire department responds lately. I suppose they're used to it by now-?" He laughs nervously, "Have you gone through any of our wedding gifts yet by the way?"

 

"They hear our names and they just KNOW now." Bill snorts, shaking his head with a smile.
"I haven't, no- I wanted to wait for you so we could open them together. I'm concerned about a few of them, though... Especially the one from you-know-who. Probably should open that one from a distance!" He jokes, although they probably would end up doing so in the end.

 

"She's a golden swamp adder," Shade says softly, not wanting to scare the snake with all these people around. She caresses Addy's golden head and can feel the snake calm. "She is mindbound to me, and lethal, but she won't bite unless you badly scare her."

 

"No no, you have the right idea about opening that one from a distance..." He nods, and sighs, "The bottle-shaped one is more than likely from Rick though... and surprisingly we got a couple from Billiam-? I wonder what he got us..." Ford mused thoughtfully.

 

"Has she approved of me then? Or has Jorin prevented me from being deemed 'real Jame'?" she asks, watching the snake.

 

"That really IS surprising, considering." He bites his lip in thought, sliding out of the chair he was in only to collapse on the other man lazily, wrapping his arms around him and resting his chin on his shoulder. "Only one way to find out, though, huh?"

 

Why're you looking for Jame? Are you looking for any Jame or a specific Jame? Are you playing a Jame-game?

 

"A Jame-game sounds like a disaster. One some would say is interesting, but a disaster."

 

"You smell similar enough to be comforting," Shade says, still caressing the adder's wedge head. "Not the Jame she knows, but still a Jame."

"I came to tell her -- my situation within Randir is now too perilous to stay any longer. Rawneth has been muttering about blood-binding her nearest ... she suspects me of traitorous thoughts. She's right. My father is not the true Lord Randir. If believing that is treachery, then I'm a traitor.

"There are lots of Jame? How? Are the timelines messed up even worse?" She sighs. "I'm looking for the one who's my friend, the one to whom I promised to stay alive. Jamethiel, Lordan of Knorth, dubbed Priest's-bane"

 

"Knorth, Knorth. There's that name again that it isn't mine," she says, "And you're definitely not a clawdite bounty hunter if I'm not the Jame you know. I doubt the Rawneth you know is anymore pleasant than mine, however. It's interesting to meet someone from this other world, regardless. If only the circumstances were a bit less dire."

One day Rawneth. One day you will get yours.

 

"When are they not?" Shade asks rhetorically, with a mirthless smile. "But believe you me, there is resistance even inside the very core of our House against her evil."
