Oh? I assumed it hadn't been necessary due to your saying that the child simply goes. No mention was made of a statement being required. I didn't assume it was relevant in your case. I'm a bit literal, sadly.

As far as refusal to relinquish children goes, for Mandalorians that usually ends in death. Often the affair is handled in-clan to preserve honor. To have someone declared Dar'buir in the clan who is not allowing the children to leave is a massive stain on one's honor. Typically far too massive to allow for peaceful recourse. You risk having the entire clan being deemed Dar'manda by allowing the offender to live.

He's listening in quietly, finding it fascinating how all the different forms of society they all lived in handled a similar situation. His mind lingered back to his own for a moment.

 

Hmm. We're rather cut off from the home planet and the other colonies, but that sounds like something that should be implemented sooner rather than later in our own government. I'm not sure we have the infrastructure to have temples for children yet, though - our colony is very new. Right now our best option is finding parents with a proven good record to take in sparklings, but you're right in that that doesn't rebuild trust the same way.

There's gotta be a way to get a message through to Cybertron at least, doc? And they can-- they can start things there, and spread word to the other connected colonies. Lord Starscream might be Vosian but he's not sparkless, he'd-- he'd see the need, the reasoning, wouldn't he?

And then a nondescript brown-haired Kendar is standing there instead of Shade, more heavyset than she, with sparkling blue eyes and a smile.
