It's mo+re likely he go+t distracted. He gets mo+re than a bit caught up in things and lo+ses track o+f things at times.

Which do+esn't make it feel any less awful.

Some people like to limit themselves as a challenge. -shrug-

 

"All the really interesting people at West Coast Tech were at Agape Lodge." Ford shrugs. "You didn't get the scholarship?"

 

Ford's cheeks redden, and he clenches his fists where no-one can see, just for a minute. "No."

 

"Oh. Sorry."

 

"I guess that's why you never mention Fiddleford McGucket?"

 

Ford's cheeks darken, and his eyebrows seem to fluff up as he scowls. "No. That's not why I don't talk about Fiddleford. I met him when he came out to California. I started working with him, and his wife..." His voice trails off. "They were killed. If it weren't for my brother, I don't know what would've happened to Tate, because I ended up in the goddamn portal..."

 

"I'm sorry," Ford says awkwardly. "You...knew his wife, though?"

 

"Of course I knew her, we were all together--" His jaw drops. "You idiots never told her, did you?" He rolls his eyes. "Unbelievable. What the fuck was wrong with you?"

 

"He dumped me for her, you sanctimonious moron! And then he came back! I didn't know what the hell to do!" Ford glares at him, then stands up and walks away.

 

"That...could have gone better."

 

I feel like that's the summary o+f this night as a who+le really.

D --> I had considered doing so, but do not want to complicate the already confusing matter of identification
D --> She tells me that I have "meowllowed out" over the numerous sweeps we've been dead, which I assume helps her a great deal
D --> But there are many of us in the dream bubbles, and it is far too easy to lose each other
D --> Though that may just be one of my neuroses

 

Ford follows Ford, and when they're far enough away, he hisses: "You made it, didn't you? The mind control device! I can't fucking believe it, you act like you think you're some fucking hero, but there is no Law except Do As Thou Wilt!"

 

Ford whirls back, trench coat swirling, and slugs himself in the jaw. "First they said they'd out us, and when that didn't work, they told me my brother was in prison in Colombia and if I wanted him to get out alive--"

 

"And you still believe that justice will ever prevail?"

 

Ford takes a deep breath. "I don't have to finish the job, I just have to keep doing as much as I can, as long as I live!"

 

Yeah I can see that but..not like that.
