"Oh you know they just lack... something..." with the significant something being empathy, emotions, intelligence, or whichever quality the speaker deems morally superior right then.
"All the energon goes to their pistons, don'tcha know, no fuel left for their brains", "Drills don't need to be smart so why would Primus make an intelligent miner?", "You don't have to worry about his feelings, he's a Constructicon."
All of these commonly follow sentences like the one you said. You may not have meant it, but maybe consider your words before you speak them.
