Lissa waggles her eyebrows at Norm. "Hella Jeff sounds like some kind of idiot there." She is pointedly ignoring William.

"J-jeez, Rick," Morty began, rubbing the pained areas on his arms. "...w-w-what the fuck i-s - is wrong with you today?" He asked, getting somewhat irritated.

 

"What? Nothin - nothing, I'm fine. I'm just having temporal whiplash, fuckin' hell. I mean it's not every day a Morty from your dimension shows up, that - that you thought'd died. I mean, you literally came back from the d-dead for me, Morty, like you just rose from death and that's fucking weird. That doesn't - doesn't happen every day, Morty. Even for me."

"He fucking died, Morty. You know - or - or I thought he died. I mean - just dead. It's not like it matters, Mort - Morty, not like it matters. 'Cause I mean he's not dead now so I mean, that's - that's somethin'." He gives a long look at the bottle in his hand, before taking one last swig from it and he moves back over to the other two - without the bottle.

 

Morty lets out an undignified shriek, falling over himself, hitting the floor. He mutters incoherently for a moment, look at the other creature. After a moment he collects himself enough to respond.

"O-Oh, I-I-I-I mean, t-that's - that's true. But - but Rick's usually, most of them - most of them only see Morty's as someone as a human shield. Why - why should mine be any, any different? Rickyest Rick, and a-all that." Morty stands, dusting himself off with a look of hurt anger on his face. He crosses his arms over his chest, frowning. "I-It's not much of a stretch to think - think t-th-that he'd replace me."

 

"W-w-what do you mean, Rick? I-I-It doesn't matter? There's a whole - whole other Morty - a whole o-o-other Morty, Rick! A whole other me! Tha-tha-a-that's not normal for me Rick! That's not normal for most people!"

He'd do everything to have someone to protect again, but getting involved into other people's arguments sounds like a great way to get hurt, especially when there's still so much catching up to do.]

 

Lissa is vaguely confused. Does Norm think she's hitting on him? She hasn't considered the matter one way or the other, and her Ford's not around to be asked his opinion. "I hope I didn't make you uncomfortable. I flirt with almost everyone, but if I actually hit on you, you will almost certainly know it. And...I don't always know how I'll react to a proposition from someone I don't know very well, because a lot depends on delivery. For instance usually guys who hit on me when I'm flirting with another woman are gross as fuck, but when Wrench did it, it was one hundred percent hopeful admiration and zero percent gross entitlement, and I get off on that so hard I was halfway there before we even got to the fade."

She shrugs. "If you ever think I'm serious and you're not into it, you can say so, and I won't be mad. And Ford and I have each other's backs--we always check each other's playmates out before anything happens, so that's another way you'd know."

 

[With a few little flickers Armory resets her optic band] I-... I apologize, that must have been alarming. Are you alright?
[She would reach out but that would mean letting go even a little from Fidelis or spontaneously growing another hand and the latter was... far more likely right now.]

 

Did say 'or why'. He might think you're just a replacement-- doesn't sound like it, but I don't know him. Doesn't mean you are just a replacement. People grow, change.
