[Lonan] Ah, right, forgot, you guys use 'mech' to refer to sapients. Mech here, also 'mecha,' is short for "mechanized power armor," one of the classes glitter boys fall under. And a silly term because all power armor is mechanized, that's the 'power' part. (The other term is "giant robot vehicle" which is more apt, power armor tends to be smaller.)

I do anthropomorphize it a lot, because we pilots tend to get attached. He's saved my ass a lot, and I gotta take care of 'im. But really he's just a shell unless I'm inside.

He is shiny though. Chrome plating deflects lasers, also looks awesome.

A bit. Also the only ones with the laser-proof plating, barring glitter boy variants, and energy weapons are the main form in our world so most schmucks can't even inconvenience us. They're sturdy as fuck- survived a few hundred years of apocalypse on their own while most power armors and robot vehicles were lost. The only reason the CS has their SAMAS suits is because they found a hidden cache. Most on the surface were destroyed.
