warning, none of the Fords think much of Christianity but Reverse Ford is far less polite about it.

Archive has a pretty strong innate drive towards loyalty and by extension the keeping of vows to a cause she's loyal to, which means the conflicting religious vows of 'obey the Mistress of Flame' and 'preserve the history and culture of Caminus' have been digging at her for at least a million years, ever since the Mistress asked her to delete some historical records deemed heretical and Archive refused.

If demon!Lav (@Poisoned Silk )'s Demonic Party Line thing is setting anyone off let me know. She's fun to play because her brain's all twisty but I don't want anyone to actually be uncomfortable!

To the like 2 nerds going ??? over Letha claiming to be an Ua Briain, that's not her birth surname. It involves an adoption by an old Irish vampire who claims to be the granddaughter of Brian Boru. Letha goes by it because 1) it's interesting and 2) it's a public announcement that she's Not To Be Fucked With in certain circles. (Both are also why she uses the older form instead of modern O'Brien.)

In his own way, Libre is nearly as much of a decepticon hardliner as Nichrome is.

dave puts a lot of thought into sbahj, especially after hearing that alpha dave used it to protest )(IC.

but he still compulsively downplays the work he puts into it (around strangers/acquaintances--he's more sincere when it's his friends) because he doesn't feel like it's worth the effort he puts in and doesn't want to be seen putting in effort for something bad unless he makes it very clear that's the joke

that is to say a lot of his talk about it as art is going to be couched in horseshit

Libby isn´t being mean on purpose, he´s just grouchy by nature and doesn´t really Get Dave at all.

    We noticed!!!

Reverse Ford just strongly suspects Libre doesn't really understand about patriarchy. Or child development.

Well, understandable given that neither really feature in Cybertronian societal development. :P

Reverse Ford is right. Libre hasn´t the foggiest idea what a child even IS. And Cybertron had it´s own lovely system of bigotry when he was forged, which put him if not all the way on the bottom then pretty darn close.
He doesn´t like everything the Decepticon do and have done, but he beleives in the core, and to an extend in the ends justifying the means. Now consider that between him and his twin Ratio, HE is the one with An Whole Morality and be afraid. Be very afraid.

Because real world politics briefly came up: Libre´s opinions are not mine.
But then, I did not grow up as a slave in an oppressive regime and then joined the revolution to become a communist.

Transformers background: Peace through tyranny is a decepticon slogan and a quote from megatron, the decepticon leader and author of Towards Peace.

Meanwhile, the refrance with "Peace under Cybertron" is the most direct translation for Nova Prime's vaunted "Pax Cybertronia", wherein he conquers the galaxy to make it more peaceful :P

    EXACTLY!!!

I hope nobody is thinking that anybody's politics are mine. Even if I do use the Reverse Pines characters to snark real-world politics, Lissa and Ford don't even have exactly the same political beliefs as each other, let alone me, and they and Stan and Carla have basically carved out a feudal fiefdom in Oregon what with the mob connections and the sorcery, not that you'd ever make them admit it.

I understand where all my characters are coming from and suspect that most of them are doing the best they can with what they've got, but *shrug* trying to figure out how to run a society where half the sapients are feline and half aren't would be difficult for anyone, and so is dealing with Condie.

And I do think that a lot of the Talassani mindset comes from being felines. They're sapient, they're people, but they're not sapient apes.

That said... it's time to ask the real questions. Valiska talks politics with Tainell all the time.

Do you REALLY want Tainell to read political theory written by MEGATRON?

Well I mean, it´s not my world :P
On a more serious note I assume he is mature enough to critically consider any political manifesto he is given, although Libre should probably toss some Cybertronian history books in for context. From what I know of the canon Towars peace, the original version which is what Libre would hand out because fuck those edits right in the ear, are on the positive side advocating for equality and technically for eventual peace, on the negative side have a very generous dose of "the end justifies the means" in them.

(And yeah I mostly tossed in the real world disclaimer just to be safe.)

On a more serious note Tainell is actually mature enough to consider things critically, I just...think Megatron and Tainell may have some of the same self-reinforcing biases. Fortunately he listens to the Pineses and to Akallabeth and Moira.

Hehe. It sound like the theoretical fallout would have been amusing, if maybe not good.

Exactly. Tainell actually came from a fairly upper-middle-class family, but he had an interest in social justice and philosophy even before his twin sister got murdered by a visiting "dignitary". He was afab and had not yet transitioned when met Ford and Valiska at university where Ford was getting one of those PhDs, Valiska was still an undergrad, and the two of them suggested that maybe his friends and family were assholes and encouraged him to be, well, himself. Eventually he went into the military and ended up leading the military side of the Glorious Revolution (tm), the leaders of which included Ford, Valiska, Getheny Devatke, Ral Hargraeven, Jacob, Jude and Joella Harley, Mara Telenke et al.

Tainell is also the Heir of Rage.

Noncanonically What I imagine Meg´s book contains is the obvious statements about how one´s altmode should not dictate ones life, (heretical thoughts at the very least at the time) Some outline of how the current caste system sucks and how to fix it (which probably leans a bit hard on the "compromise is defeat" angle,) and the sort of eloquence and charisma that made people die for him, kill for him, and ultimate started a cult of personality around him.

Also I don´t think Libby will ever be a fan of pizza, not his favorite texture. Also, no feeding Dave metal, even in rust form. energon most certainly WOULD kill your average human outside the rave mind.
