Naft's an illusionist! Not just with sight either, she can manipulate other senses. She uses this as an art form.

Ford would disagree with this, all of them would, but...he is so not watching that interaction. I am, but he's not. And he's not letting Lissa. That would be Bad, but it sure is Adorable.

Tbh I am a transhumanist and utterly opposed to the whole mortality thing but if you could promise me the unspoken experience I might reconsider; it's the get your soul overwritten in reincarnation like a goddamn flash drive option and the rot in the dirt that's the end options that scare me the most.

Is @Naft a child? Her avatar doesn't look childish to me because her chin is so strong. My characters...hahahah they might have been conversing rather differently if they had known a 5 year old was listening.

Naft is fully aware people in the Rave aren't Hekatons. If nothing else, she can hear that they've got heartbeats, not the ticking of a ticker. But... she's still from an isolationist Kingdom kept secret in order to prevent the genocide of the people in it, with very little actual knowledge of the world or even the species outside. So she's making some rather incorrect assumptions!

@cryptoThelematrix Nope! Hekatons are a manmade species of bioweapons that typically reach their adult body (triggered by mental and emotional maturity) around 1 year of age. She's not only an adult, she'd be halfway to a quarter of the way through her expected lifespan if she didn't live in the sheltered, protective environment she DOES live in.

@cryptoThelematrix While I haven't seen it elsewhere, someone I know interpreted 17776 as proposing "oh my god, imagine if all we had to worry about was having too much time on our hands, instead of this constant crushing fear of our own imminent mortality!"

    So, yup. :P

off to bed, but my own opinions re: human immortality are a big ole glittery ????????

dave isn't doing immortality super great because he fully expected to fall off the roof one day or fall down the stairs wrong or something like that for so long that experiencing "not only is that not happening, now that you've come to terms with your death, but also you're immortal!" makes him BSOD

What I don't get is the people who insist they would be bored. Between the internet and all the books that come out every year and the fact that I read three languages, though not equally well (I am not smarter than a Japanese fifth grader) and games, even if there weren't infinite things to learn and study and research, how would you EVER get bored. If you actually have time to devote yourself to getting good at anything that interests you you don't have to be a half-assed dilettante like me.

But then I know a lot of people who get mentally stuck at a specific period in time and they don't like music that is new and they don't like new ways of doing things and they resist new ideas. I'm not like that. Some new ideas (like animal rights vs animal welfare, or the idea that cultural interchange not involving stealing other people's genuinely sacred stuff is bad) I reject, but I think it through first, it's not just like no that's not how we did things back when. The older I get the more friends of mine start sounding like Old People (tm) and I just :excalibur: at them.

They don't even seem to remember what it was like to be younger. It's super frustrating.

yep. i imagine that if i had eternity, i could probably spend most of it just sperging on my fandoms and making all the ideas for fanworks i have into reality. and roleplaying. and reading. and eating the stuff i like and listening to the music i like. and getting into new fandoms if they happen to catch my eye. and sleeping. there's a lot i could do.

The drink Lissa gave Jordi is what Rev Ford had taken when he hit on Starscream, but I did not know it would affect Jordi even more!

RIP Marcus' ass, at least it died happy.

RN Marcus is just "How could you have done this to me"

Meanwhile I'm tempted to bring in Eoin who was a character I made for Watch Dogs (of course he is) in a Were-creature AU. He is a were tiger. He is big in both forms and a very cheerful man. Eoin Mac Aodha, engineer, animal lover, a giant tiger, and a pack leader of a wolf pack.

(His second is a wolf named Paul and the Beta that helps him the most is an enby named Shelby who is actually a member of DedSec. )

Eoin, mind, is pronounced 'O-in' like owen is. He finds great joy in people mispronouncing his name slash mispelling it.

Catte manners. Also, most human brain chemistries react to it more slowly and the increased blood flow doesn't have to turn sexual, it just often does. Ford drinks this stuff by the bottle when she's in heat, but for him one glass is usually just an antidepressant.

But you know they would not let anything nonconsensual happen to Marcus

Is it the same kind of joy when people call me Carrie? Because that's not the word I'd use for it.

A mix really, he's pretty old (due to being a were and his lifespan being long) so he's use to it. It's kind of how he determines if someone's really worth talking to / who they say they are. If they know him they know it's 'O-in' not anything else.
