Amalgamous doesn't have the best attention span, and is nooot the most respectful of sapient organics, so he probably won't be... too interested in interacting with Ford, unless he accidentally tramples over something hard enough for Ford to get aggro at him. (Which I also hope doesn't happen, your Ford is lovely.) Mala's more likely to be rude and dismissive than actively aggressive towards him, at any rate.

Thanks! I am glad you think he's lovely. I love him that's for sure. I was just amused by Mala's dismissive thoughts and wondered if/when he'd air them.

I think my Ford is lovely most of the time, but...he does have PTSD and the occasional paranoid delusion, and very occasionally, both in canon and in my writing, things come out of his mouth that... I don't even, except that he's clearly not interacting with his current here and now. *pets him*. I know why he said them (even the canon ones*, and even the canon ones after WT parted ways with GF canon), but sometimes it takes me a while to figure that out. He's usually contrite afterwards, unless it's someone like Bill.

*"Grammar, Stanley" may literally be the most unhelpful thing Ford ever said (well, aside from reading those cave inscriptions out loud), and I'm glad our Ford didn't have to say it because apparently my Stan is less of an asshat than canon Stan, but...it was actually a fairly mild response to somebody holding the universe hostage unless he said thank you when he didn't really mean it and then going into a lecture on how he was responsible for everything that was happening, which he had already admitted--and isn't true, since Bill is responsible for what Bill did, even if Ford made it possible by being duped. Ford has no problems saying thank you when he means it; he thanked Dipper for saving his life, as an example. :)

 

@Aondeug I actually looked that up, it's a real thing from some sutra. Ford isn't a Buddhist, but he's absolutely a magician, so... *shrug*

though to be serious about britain and its research on buddhism. shit was fucking crucial to the spread of theravada in the west. shit still is. IT IS FASCINATING. If you like history might be a cool thing to read about. The Pali Text Society and British academic work on Buddhism that is.
