Emergency getting kicked out checklist: -somewhere safe to stay -important documents (birth certificate, social security card, ID documents, etc if you live in the US, any medical papers or insurance cards you can get) -clothes if you can take them -electronics, same deal If you can, find out what bills your parents are responsible for that they plan on cutting you off of (phone, health insurance, etc). If you're not sure if you'll be able to keep your things safely wherever you're staying, see if you can get a locker at one of the mini storage places popping up (usually $20/mo or under in my area) or a combination lock and a cheap gym membership to use their lockers. If you can't take your cat and you're afraid for their safety with your parents, see if a friend can take them in for a couple of days and look for a no-kill shelter in your area.
Thanks. except when i told my parents i was leaving and ready to go, it turned out it was a bluff. they don't want me to leave. actually they are offended that i interpreted what they said as them kicking me out at all. so uh. i don't know. but Thanks.
my dad was asking about my plans for the summer and i was telling him how fiancee and i were going to move into an apartment, probably end of june, early july and my dad like looks at me and was like "i don't see why you have to stay" and i was like ".... because we don't have an apartment yet and were hoping to wait until fiancee get their post-college job, so that we could pick an apartment at a reasonable location from it" and my dad was like "i don't see why you would wait until then" and like idk it felt really obvious that that was him saying i should move the fuck out except now my parents are offended i thought they were kicking me out
Uh, that seems like they may have a severe case of “when you put it into words it sounds bad”. Like, if it were just a misunderstanding I would usually expect to see immediate attempts to clarify prioritized over any personal offense.
yeah no they are Mad and Offended that i would Dare To Think that they were trying to kick me out also i have found a therapist for us to go see, and also she is the only person we can see because my parents only want to see in-network people and there are only two people in network who deal with transgenderism, and she is the only one with a bio, aaaaaaaaaa
The ONLY PRACTICE that says they specialize in transgender issues said they were accepting new patients, but now I am on a waitlist, and the receptionist made it seem like it will take a while. >:( OTOH, I am on the waitlist, so there's that. It's a step forward.
